Mark Driscoll Giveaway Includes Luxury AirBnB Stay, Cybertruck

To celebrate the launch of Real Men in September, disqualified Arizona pastor (see endnotes) Mark Driscoll is giving one lucky winner a 3-day luxury stay in Scottsdale, where they will stay in an “exclusive luxury Airbnb” and have access to a Tesla Cybertruck for the duration of their stay.

The home, which includes a pool, mini-put course, and gourmet kitchen, rents at that time of the season for around $600 a night for a minimum of three nights. With fees and services, it comes to a little under $2900.

In a similar vein, a cybertruck can be rented on Turo for around $230$ a day.

For more on Driscoll:

We’ve written about Mark Driscoll many times. Whereas he was once standard fare for New Calvinists and the pseudo-Reformed community, Driscoll runs almost exclusively in the charismatic community.

Back in the day, Driscoll favored an edgy, aggressive style marked by prurient sermons laced with cuss words and punk-style worship- he once called women’ penis homes’ and commanded women with unsaved husbands to give their husbands oral sex to convert them. All the edgy aggressiveness boiled over in 2014 when the empire suddenly imploded due to Driscoll’s emotional and spiritual abuse of the flock, plagiarism, and accusations of financial misconduct. Rather than undergo church discipline, he claimed he audibly heard from God that he needed to leave, and he bolted. Later, nearly 40 former Mars Hill elders issued a public statement describing him as ‘unfit’ and ‘unrepentant.’

Not many years later, with the help of his crony James MacDonald, Mark Driscoll wrapped up his own discipline and re-established himself behind a pulpit in Phoenix, Arizona. Here, he set himself up as Pope of his own church, removing any of the limiting factors that previously constrained him, chiefly the presence of elders. Despite having hundreds and hundreds of people attending each week, there are no elders at The Trinity Church, which has resulted in his bullying ways continuing. Think of him as a wayward child who locked his parents in their room and now has the run of the house, terrorizing the dogs and torturing the cats.

Slowly, he rebuilt his empire, even as his theology got squishier. He mocked reformed theology and described Calvinism as “garbage.” He publicly apologized for criticizing Joel Osteen. He started selling copies of his sermon notes online and pushed seeker-sensitive services like “Swimsuit Sunday.” He even defended the Roman Catholic Church, saying they “believe in the essentials.”

Despite resigning in disgrace and possessing a penchant for theological violence, people flocked to him at his new home, and his church has grown immensely in the last few years, slowly edging towards megachurch status.

Breaking! Pastor John Lindell Blast Mark Driscoll for Spreading ‘Demonic’ Lies, Says Sword-Swallowing Performer is Born-Again Christian

Days ago, pastor John Lindell of James River Church infamously rebuked Mark Driscoll for publicly criticizing a sword-swallower acrobat who was performing at his Stronger Men’s Conference, likening it to a fleshly strip show that brought in the ‘Jezebel Spirit.’

While the two seemingly later reconciled onstage, with Driscoll saying he should have asked Lindell’s permission before saying anything, the peace did not last, with Lindell issuing a public rebuke and call for repentance for Mark in front of his entire church.

During a 04.17.2. 24 service, which was live-streamed but then taken down, Lindell accused Driscoll of spreading “demonic lies” about Alex Magala, the performer whom he describes as a married, church-going, born-again Christian. Lindell also took him to task for spreading lies and falsehoods about James River Church, seeking to sow division, and acting duplicitously towards him and his family.

Ultimately, Lindell shared his public remarks against Driscoll’s service, which are the final stages of the Matthew 18 process, and that if Mark doesn’t repent, no one should have anything to do with him. A partial transcript can be seen below, with the rest in the video:

The Bible gives us a three-step process for resolving conflicts not just conflicts between believers, but a plan for confronting sinful behavior. Step one, you go to the person and point out their fault just between the two of you. Step two if the person does not repent you involve one to two other people. Step three: if they refuse you, tell it to the church

So with great sadness that I let you know we are at step three. Let me just say that I have known Mark since 2008 when the church that Mark pastored Mars Hill fell apart and Mark had very few friends. We stood with Mark and Grace to encourage them we shared our platform with them when almost almost no one else would.

Having Mark Driscoll at the stronger Men’s Conference was simply a continuation of our friendship and our relationship but at the conference and in the days that followed Mark has repeatedly engaged in sinful behavior.

Let’s start with Alex mgala the sword swallower. Alex is a born again Christian and has been for approximately 10 years. He is married, has children wow,m attends Mosaic Church in Los Angeles
California where Irwin McManus is the pastor.

While Alex was here he participated in worship and when he was taken to the airport our James River Church host watched as Alex boldly shared his faith with an individual.

Alex like many Christians has a past but he has been made a new creation. He’s been made a new creation through his faith in Jesus Christ…

Notably, while Lindell claims Magala has been a born-again Christian for the last decade, a 2016 story from the Daily Mail revealed that Magala has been stripping and dancing in gay bars during the time he was supposedly a believer. A recent video from a few weeks ago also shows him meditating among several Buddhist statues, as well as a social media feed that contains him performing with women with very little clothing, would suggest his faith, if he possess it as Lindell claims, is deeply compromised and needs a heavy dose of sanctification.

Man of Conviction? Mark Driscoll Repents of Viral Rebuke, Says He Shouldn’t Have Done it Without Asking Permission

Mark Driscoll has walked back the now-infamous rebuke he gave organizers of the Stronger Men’s conference after they featured a shirtless acrobat (and former (present?)stripper) doing a sword-swallowing routine that many felt was too sexual and inappropriate.

Driscoll’s rebuke saw him booted from the stage by conference organizer John Lindell, who told him he was “out of line” and “done” for saying they had invited in the “Jezebel Spirit through the performance.

While many have lauded Driscoll for his courage and convictions, it did not last. Soon after, Driscoll and Lindell sat down, worked through it, and hashed it all out.

Appearing side by side, Lindell heaped praises upon Driscoll, lauding him as a “John the Baptist figure” that he loves, who is a gift to the kingdom, and whom he looks forward to inviting back next year.

Driscoll, in turn, praised Lindell as his “spiritual father” and sorrowfully admitted he should have gotten permission before running his mouth and speaking out of turn. While he did not walk back the thrust of his critique, Driscoll insisist that he should have talked to Lindell first, and if Lindell would have asked him not to rebuke anyone, he should have abided by that decision and respected that authority.

“I should have…talked to you rather than just verbal processing on the stage. And as the father and the head of the house, you could have given me a thumbs up or down. And I need to honor that as spiritual authority”

Not exactly the brave and fearless rebuker he’s been made out to be.

(Extended Video) Mark Driscoll Kicked Off Stage of Popular Christian Conference After Calling out ‘Jezebel Spirit’ of Performer

Mark Driscoll is trending after being kicked off stage at a popular Christian conference he was invited to speak at, accusing organizers of letting in a “Jezebel Spirit” by allowing a particular artist to perform, resulting in him getting the boot.

For the opening act of the 2024 Stonger Men’s Conference hosted by John Lindell of River City Church, who was recently at the center of the “regrown toes miracle” controversy, the conference invited Alex Magala to perform.

Magala is a stripper and pole dancer who rose to fame on Britain’s Got Talent for a dangerous sword-swallowing routine. During the performance (below), Magela ripped off his shirt, swallowed his sword, and then climbed up pole with the sword still in his mouth and throat before falling back down the pole.

While it received claps and cheers at the time, Driscoll, a speaker at the event who has also spoken there in previous years, was not pleased. Taking to the stage, Driscoll stated that he was not correcting or rebuking anyone but rather making an observation:

Driscoll: Let me do this. I’ve been up since 1 o’clock in the morning. The reason I’m hoarse is I have been praying for you and my heart is very burdened for you. And I want to be very careful with this and it’s not what I want to say, but the Jezebel spirit has already been here. The Jezebel spirit opened our event.

This is a rebuke and a correction of no one. This is an observation.

Before the Word of God was opened, there was a platform. It was a high place. On it was a pole of Asherah. The same thing that’s used in a strip club for women who have the Jezebel spirit to seduce men. In front of that was a man who ripped his shirt off like a woman does in front of a pole at a strip club. That man then ascended.

See, our God is not arrogant. He doesn’t ascend our God is humble he descends. And then-

Lindell interrupts: “Wrong time Mark!”

Driscoll: “He swallowed a sword and Jesus cried”

Lindell: “Wrong time Mark!”

Driscoll: “okay, Pastor John, I’ll receive that.”

Lindell: You’re Done

Driscoll:”Thank you”

Driscoll then gets off stage

Lindell: Wow. Let me just say this. If Mark wanted to say that, he should have said it to me first. He didn’t. Matthew 18. Matthew 18. If your brother offends you, go to him privately. I talked to Mark for a half hour. There was not one word of that. He’s out of line. If you want to say it, he can say it to me. You may not agree with me. You may not agree with him. But we are brothers in Christ and there’s a right way to handle this.

And I’m telling you. I’m not going to sit back and watch someone do publicly what they should have done privately. And as a pastor and a man of God, I’ll call another man of God out. And I love Mark but he was out of line. And I have a responsibility spiritually for this event. And we saw 530 people come to Christ. And we’ve (unintelligible Jesus) And we’re going to conduct ourselves in a Christian manner and we’re going to go according to the bible, and the bible tells us how that should have been resolved, and it wasn’t-“

While we are pleased to see Driscoll make the correction, one he was right to do, you’d be hard-pressed to convince us there wasn’t a bit of opportunism involved, notably since Lindell revealed he spoke to Driscoll for half an hour before the event and he didn’t say anything about it.

While it’s possible Driscoll was still mulling over what to say or even if to say it, given his history of obstreperous and disqualifying behavior, both ancient and recent*, it would have been more appropriate for a pastor to call out Driscoll speaking at the event, than Driscoll to himself out anyone else.

*We believe Driscoll is a pathological liar, culty control freak, shockingly thinned-skinned, and has long been disqualified from the ministry for many ministerial deeds.

Back in the day, Driscoll favored an edgy, aggressive style marked by prurient sermons laced with cuss words and punk-style worship- he once called women’ penis homes’ and commanded women with unsaved husbands to give their husbands oral sex to convert them. Driscoll’s new church was purposefully created to have no elders, as after his old ones ousted him from Mars Hill a decade ago and over he vowed that would never happen again, setting up internal structures and hierarchies to give him absolute power and no accountability. Some of his recent actions include:

Mark Driscoll Featured in ‘Demon Slayer Exorcist’ Movie. That Tracks

Spurred on perhaps by the (relative) success of Greg Locke’s demon deliverance film “Come Out in Jesus’ Name”  a new breed of charismatic exorcists is making a push to broadcast their zany brand of fake miracles and demon-deliverance, exemplified by The Domino Revival. According to the promo:

The Domino Revival takes moviegoers on an extraordinary journey with Mike Signorelli and a group of revivalists during a pivotal period in our nation’s history.  As society’s fascination with the supernatural intensifies, this film unveils the awe-inspiring power of Jesus Christ.  Through compelling preaching, documented miracles, triumph over despair, and liberation from demons, The Domino Revival captures the essence of spiritual hunger and delivers a profound cinematic experience.

The film features Isaiah Saldivar, Mike Signorelli, Alexander Pagani, Vlad Savchuk, Ryan Lestrage, Jeremiah Johnson and notably Mark Driscoll, a collective of theologically disreputable sorts whose weird, unorthodox and heretical beliefs could fill a movie on their own.

Driscoll himself (or some PR person by the look of it) wrote on Facebook when the initial trailer launched.

Color us thoroughly unsurprised.

Liar Liar? Mark Driscoll Claims Book Was Banned From Amazon, So Why Is It Still There?

Early Sunday evening, controversial pastor (see endnotes) and noted plagiarizer Mark Driscoll took to Twitter to complain that his new book “New Days, Old Demons: Ancient Paganism Masquerading as Progressive Christianity” got him suspended from Amazon. He claimed the online retail giant was trying to “silence the word of God and faithful Bible teachers” and urged followers to purchase it from his website instead.

While it’s true that his book wasn’t available on Amazon at the time of his tweet, it’s also true that it wasn’t available anywhere. Not at Barnes and Noble, Books a Million, Thriftbooks, or Powells.

Driscoll’s missive makes it seem like he was singled out from Amazon specifically. However, given that no one else carried the self-published book, described as a “prophetic message for pathetic times,” this reeks of shameless self-promotion.

Yet on Monday, hours after his claims, his book was on Amazon, alive and well, free to be shared and purchased from the masses.

Despite the book being available on Amazon, Driscoll still keeps on repeating claims to the contrary. In an Instagram post early this morning, he insists it’s “the book that big tech doesn’t want you to purchase,” despite being on sale for $17.98 and eligible for free shipping through Amazon Prime.

Ultimately, claiming that he was suspended from Amazon because of this book reads like a quick and dirty way to raise controversy and project scarcity, which wouldn’t be the first time Driscoll has manipulated book sales to make a buck.

Mark Driscoll Cries and Whines While He Strawmans Cessationists

Because Driscoll is a shell of his former shell, and because post-fall cessationists were by and large the only ones who held him accountable while the continuationists welcomed him with open arms, he’s been attacking cessationists with some of the stupidest and worst misrepresentations possible, making it clear he’s so used to be being wrong that he doesn’t know how to be right anymore.

This next one is particularly stupid.

Responding to a question of whether or not people should attend a cessationist church, Driscoll breaks out his flamethrower and sets ablaze some strawmen with gusto.

Driscoll says he could never attend a cessationist church or sit under a cessationist pastor. He explains that he would never invite a cessationist to preach at his church, noting that “most of them wouldn’t want to be there anyways.’

True, because he’s unqualified to preach and disqualified from the pastorate.

Calling cessationism a “worldly teaching” and “completely alternate way of viewing the bible,” Driscoll claims that cessationists would have a hard time teaching through the story of Elijah because they “tend to dial down the work of the Holy Spirit and also the work of the demonic,” they “skip over a lot of the supernatural and paranormal” and they ignore the “unseen realm” while also having a mindset that does not want “the Holy Spirit to be in control.”

We don’t know a single cessationist pastor who would have difficulty preaching through Elijah and addressing the awe-inspiring works of the supernatural with gusto, marveling at the work of God. But because Driscoll’s conscience is seared and he has some theological PTSD from being told ‘no’ all the time by cessationists who could see through him into his dark and deranged heart a mile away, particularily after he shared his pornographic divinations, they become the obvious targets for his petulant tantrums and pointed wrath.

Mark Driscoll’s New Promo Material for an Upcoming Sex Sermon Series is Something Else

Mark Driscoll’s Trinity Church has started putting out promo material for an upcoming 8-week sermon series, with the disgraced pastor putting out mailers and billboards informing potential attendees that “The same God who heats up our valley wants to heat up your marriage” and “Married couples: has your bedroom become your bored room? We’re here to help”

The mailers and billboards link to the church’s website, informing them that the sermon series is based on a new book by Driscoll called Real Romance, Sex in the Book of Songs.

Driscoll famously preached a controversial sermon in 2007 on the Songs of Songs, in Edinburgh, Scotland, which was scrubbed from the internet but not before being captured.

In it, he went into graphic detail on the vagina, urged wives to dance and strip for their husbands, said refusing to give a spouse oral sex is a sin, and told a story about how a man started coming to his church after he insisted in a bible study that the wife repent of withholding oral sex from him.

“We had a woman like that in our church. She became a Christian and her husband was not a Christian. He hated the church, wanted nothing to do with the church. She kept browbeating him about Jesus: “you need to get saved, you’re gonna burn in hell” (and) he had no interest in that.

And so finally I was teaching a class on sex and she said “oh, so oral sex on a husband is what a wife is supposed to do?” I said “yes.” She said “my husband’s always wanted that but I’ve refused him.”

I went to 1Peter 3, I said the Bible says if your husband is not a Christian that you are to win him over with deeds of kindness.

I said so go home and tell your husband that you were in a Bible study today and that God has convicted you have sin, and repent, and perform oral sex on your husband and tell them that Jesus, Jesus Christ commands you to do so. The next week a man showed up at church.

As far as we are aware, he has never publicly recanted, retracted, or apologized for it.

There is no word whether or not this new series will have similar admonitions and marital advice.

Driscoll’s Mars Hill Ministry imploded in 2014 after his elders accused him of being arrogant, crude, bullying, harsh, and overbearing. Rather than stay and submit to the ignominy of church discipline, Mark took his ball and went home, resigning and starting a new church in Arizona (the 1000-member Trinity Church) that notably does not have elders who can reign him in and keep him in check. His lack of elders is not for lack of prospects, but rather is being done to avoid accountability and accumulate maximum control, and where his better angels have transformed into crooked and decrepit demons.

It was only a year ago that nearly 40 elders who once worked at Mars Hill Church and served alongside Mark Driscoll during the most tumultuous years of his career released a public statement outlining their dismay that their former leader has continued his abusive tactics at his new church; calling on him to step down and to enter into a process of conciliation with those he abused.

Though Driscoll was once more or less sound and orthodox in the faith, being a leader and key figure in the Young, Restless and Reformed movement of the late ’90s and early 2000s, he drifted more and more towards false teaching and embracing heretics.

Over the years, apart from starting a new church where there are no elders so that he has absolute rule and can reign over his church unquestioned, he has ridiculed reformed theology, called Calvinism “garbage” defended the Roman Catholic church by saying it affirms essential doctrines, and famously publicly repented for criticizing Joel Osteen.

Mark Driscoll Claims Mars Hills Elders Tried to Oust Him From Church Using False Allegations of Adultery

During his recent Sunday sermon, ‘pastor’ Mark Driscoll released a bombshell, claiming that the reason he resigned from the pastorate at Mars Hill after previously saying he wasn’t going anywhere and would submit to a period of church discipline, is that the Holy Spirit revealed to him a secret plot by the church elders to get him to step down by falsely accusing him of adultery, freeing him to leave.

Now Driscoll, who regularly claims that God speaks to him and gives him secret knowledge and visions, including famously claiming he receives pornographic divinations from the Holy Spirit, says that he decided to resign from the church after God showed him a trap was being set for him and after God told him he did not have to stick around and submit to church discipline but was instead “released.” He has referenced this “trap” before in interviews, but now finally explains what it is.

Some years ago, we were in a season where massive media firestorm, lots of conflict and controversy. I said ‘okay, investigate everything. I know I’m not disqualified. I know who I am. I can’t wait to stand before Jesus, it’s gonna be a great day for me.’ Not that I’m perfect, but I know who I am and I know who He is.

And we were asked to return and I’ll share something with you I’ve never shared. I don’t know if it’s a good idea or not…So I was in one end of the house, Grace was in the other. God spoke to his both and said ‘you’re released, you need to resign immediately”

And God told me a trap is set. He didn’t tell Grace (his wife) that. So she came in. She’s like ‘God just spoke to me’ I was like ‘God just spoke to me’. And I said ‘what did you hear?’ She said, ‘we’re released’. I heard ‘we’re released and that a strap was set.’

So we walked away, didn’t defend ourselves. Took 18 months, didn’t do social media didn’t do public ministry. Just wanted to heal up and be with my family, get them into safety in a very dangerous season of our life. And so during that time, I met with some of my critics and enemies, one on one or small group. People that had been friends, people who claim to be Christians, some who were pastors, some who still are pastors.

And I asked them, I said ‘God told me a trap was set’. So I asked them, I said, ‘Do you know what that might be?’ And these people that we had known, said, ‘yeah, the nuclear option was we were going to accuse you of adultery.’

I like the dig of ‘people who claim to be Christians.’ He continues:

This was at Panera, multiple meetings at Panera. (I said) ‘You guys discussed accusing me of adultery? You know, that’s not true. I’ve been faithful to my wife my whole life. I adore my wife. I love my wife, and she loves me. We’ve been faithful to each other. We’ve been open our whole marriage about any struggles we’ve had, because we know that every married couple has some hardship to go through. And we have never been dishonest, but we have never done that. We’ve never done anything remotely like that.’

He said, ‘yeah, that’s why we kept it as the nuclear option.’

I was like ‘to get me what?’ they said ‘to get you out of the pulpit.’ They said ‘because we knew that if we accuse you of adultery, and enough of us signed the open letter, that ultimately there would be such a media firestorm that you would have to exit ministry, exit preaching God’s word for probably a year well, a full investigation was done. During that time, we could take over and lead and be in charge and then we figured one of two things would happen. Either you would come back but we would be in charge, or you would never come back and you’d be done forever.’

I came home I told Grace, I was like “Oh my gosh. Multiple people told me that to my face on separate occasions and days. ‘

If I’m going to be your pastor, and I love you, I promise you this; I will always tell you the truth. And I want you to love and honor and respect Christian leaders and pastors. Don’t assume the worst assume the best. And don’t believe everything you hear and don’t contribute to the gossip that just takes lies and gives them life.”

Driscoll is completely unrepentant thoroughly disqualified from the ministry, and with every retelling of this retconned fantasy version of events, he only digs in deeper.

Mark Driscoll Suspended From TikTok For The Usual Reason

After going radio silent for years, Mark Driscoll continues to dip his toe into Christian culture to see if Evangelicalism’s memory is as short as he suspects in order to wedge his way back into the conversation, announcing on Twitter that he’s been suspended from TikTok after allegedly saying ‘Men can’t have babies.”

Driscoll gained attention this year in a big way, appearing in several articles outlining a renewed pattern of bullying and abusive behavior, along with a complete repudiation of biblical elders and any sense of accountability, which can be seen at the links below:

Even though Driscoll is a dead-eyed control freak with lupine smirk, we don’t wish this Tiktok suspension on anyone.
