Steven Furtick Molests Jesus’ Birth Story With Awful Christmas Sermon
Steven Furtick is the Lead Pastor of Elevation Church, a former Southern Baptist-associated, 25,000-member multisite campus with 17 locations. He is known for having the term “narcegesis” (narcissistic exegesis) named after him based on his inability to exegete scripture in a way that doesn’t make every story revolve around him, and this Christmas year sermon is no different.
Speaking to his church on December 10 in his ‘Pajamas are the prophecy,’ Furtick’s sermon self-help pitch quickly deteriorates from exegesis to self-aggrandizing narcissist as he takes passages about Jesus’ birth and makes them about himself in garish and grotesque ways.

This guy has been an embarrassment to Biblical Christianity for years. Furtick is the poster boy for everything horribly wrong with contemporary American Christianity, right next to Andy Stanley.
He’s about as qualified to be a “Pastor” as JD Hall, and we see how that debacle ended..
yep I agree with you, but more than that I think he’s definitely capable of killing someone, I could too if someone makes me angry enough!
…And I’m not even going to mention the fact he’s a pompous, showboating narcissist. Not going to do it.
I believe John MacArthur was spot when he was asked some years ago to describe Steven Furtick, JMac described Furtick in one word “Unqualified”.
Don’t forget Furtick’s snappy comeback with a book entitled ‘Unqualified’.
And he still is unqualified
