Uncovered! 2013 ‘Boot Camp Book’ from Steven Furtick’s Elevation Church. Feat. ‘THE CODE’

Steven Furtick is the Lead Pastor of Elevation Church. As head of a Southern Baptist-associated, 25,000-member multisite campus with 17 locations, he is known for having the term “narcegesis” (narcissistic exegesis) named after him based on his inability to exegete scripture in a way that doesn’t make every story revolve around him, as well as his penchant to wear outfits that cost more than most mortgages and buddying up to Trinity-Denier T.D Jakes.

Last year he replaced Kenneth Copeland at the always-heretical TBN, filling the role of the Innkeeper Monsieur Thénardier from the musical Les Miserables (TBN being the Inn), with these “Masters of the house” doing whatever is the theological equivalent of “Charge ’em for the lice/Extra for the mice/Two percent for looking in the mirror twice” in his efforts to promote his brand of prosperity preaching.

He also recently said that ‘God is a Molecular Structure’, laughed at the notion of ‘Twerking for the Lord?’, went on a Wild, Wild, Willllldd Rant about Betas and Blessings, went on another Rant About Angels that got Weird Quick and screamed ‘I Am God Almighty!’ in a sermon. All that while saying that God Doesn’t Make You into a New Creation.

Fast becoming one of the most prominent, well-known pastors in North America, positioning himself to possess the same level of prominence as the Franklin Graham or T.D Jakes of the world, many have forgotten some of the scandals he has been embroiled in, and none gave perhaps so clear a picture as the infamous ‘coloring book’ The Codewhich we covered here, which was later retconned and purged from their website.

Now, thanks to some wonderful sources, we have ourselves a copy of the 2013 ‘Elevation Church Bootcamp Book’, which was given to volunteers to acquaint them with the culture of the church, centered around the vision of Furtick.

As the years have progressed, Furtick has only more entrenched in his false teaching, offering unvarnished therapeutic moralistic deism while routinely preaching self-help sermons about folks’ inherent greatness, awesomeness, and untapped potential ready to be unleased on the world, if only they allow themselves to be who God already sees them as.

Apparently, nothing has changed since 2013.

Who are the men who hold accountable? Well, after Furtick dropped $1.7 Million on a 16,000sqf mansion, investigations occurred and his board of elders were revealed to be Pastor Dino Rizzo (Healing Place Church – Baton Rough, LA), Dr. Jack Graham (Prestonwood Baptist Church – Plano, TX), Pastor Perry Noble (Newspring Church – Anderson, SC), Pastor Kevin Gerald (Champions Centre – Seattle, WA), Pastor Stovall Weems (Celebration Church – Jacksonville, FL)

Of these men, most had to resign from their churches in shame or were deeply embroiled in scandal. Dino Rizzo had to resign from his church after having an “inappropriate relationship” with a certain woman. He then got a job pastoring a new church after being ‘restored.’ Last year, he was named in sexual harassment lawsuit after it was alleged that he failed to intervene after being told by an intern that she was being sexually harassed by Vibrant Church’s former senior pastor, Jason Delgado.

Megachurch pastor Perry Noble was likewise kicked out of his church for being an alcoholic whose life and marriage was out of control. He later restored himself to ministry and now pastors a new megachurch he founded.

Pastor Stovall Weems was also kicked out of his megachurch after accusations of being a diva who was abusing staff and spending like a drunken pirate, with a report noting his time as pastor was “marked by rampant spiritual and emotional abuse, including manipulation, a profound sense of self-importance and selfishness, superiority and entitlement, overbearing and unreasonable demands on employees’ time” He also started a new church afterwards.
