New Documentary Release ‘The Real David Platt: The Hijacking of McLean Bible Church’ is Live

Part one of a new documentary examining the battle between pastor David Platt and former members of McLean Bible Church has dropped nearly a year after the first trailer was released.

The film features interview clips from McLean members, including the former church treasurer and long-serving elders describing leadership and financial deception perpetrated by David Platt, telling their stories of how an unbiblical change in focus from Platt, as well as a wave of financial secrecy, helped tear down the church and foment unrest within the congregation.

It also examines Platt’s teaching of Critical Race Theory at McLean, and the way this teaching caused turmoil within the church, with one interviewee stating, “We have 106 Different nations represented in McLean Bible Church. I’ve been there doing personal security work since 2012. I would take a bullet for anybody in that church, anybody. And you’re going to turn around and say, I’m inherently racist…”

The film also features other interviewees describe church members being denied access to financial records and instead being disfellowshipped: “They (Platt and allies) were denying their own members access to the financial records, which reflected those transactions, raised this issue publicly. They (members asking questions) were getting dismissed from the church.”

We have previously written about Platt’s wokeism and troubling leadership record, including telling the church that they should be just fine with members who voted for the godless agenda of the Democrat party. Platt has a history of associating with false teachers like Christine Caine and appearing alongside the Revoice crowd.

  1. He is also an example of what has taken down the SBC. Are you kidding me that he was leading one of the SBC’s major organizations? I have been out of the SBC for a long while (grew up born, raised and educated in the SBC), but have been so sadden by the destruction of the SBC. But I always said, if the devil can take down the SBC, man made demoninations are gone.
