ELCA Releases ‘Anti-White Supremacy Lenten Devotional’

The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) continues to pursue radical social policies, positions, and programs, which few emphasized so energetically as their commitment to Anti-racism and White Supremacy.

One of these commitments manifests in their 2025 Dismantle: ‘Anti-White Supremacy Lenten Devotional, which arose from their 2019 social policy resolution (SPR19) Condemnation of White Supremacy and Racist Rhetoric. Covering the period from Ash Wednesday to the Resurrection, the devotional was created in response to that call to be a “communal study of the structures and rhetoric that empower and fuel racism and white supremacy.”

‘Dismantle’ consists of reflections and prayers from eleven “rostered leaders (both of Word and Sacrament and of Word and Service); church theologians; members of the Black, Indigenous, and people of color (BIPOC) communities; members of the LGBTQIA2+ communities; a director for evangelical mission (DEM); missionaries; published authors; artists; immigrants/ migrants; and chaplains.”

These leaders also provide resources- books, poems, articles, and movies- that they believe will “help readers to utilize an anti-white supremacy lens in reading, understanding and/or relating to the biblical text.”

Here are portions and snippets of those Lenten devotions:

ASH WEDNESDAY: Rev. Margarette Schwanemann Ouji

FIRST SUNDAY OF LENT: Rev. Erin Coleman Branchaud

SECOND SUNDAY OF LENT: Rev. Ian Coen-Frei

THIRD SUNDAY OF LENT: Sharei Green

FOURTH SUNDAY OF LENT: Desta Goehner

FIFTH SUNDAY OF LENT: Rev. Alejandro Mejia

SUNDAY OF THE PASSION/PALM SUNDAY: Rev. Veronica John Mwakasungura

MAUNDY THURSDAY: Taína Diaz-Reyes

GOOD FRIDAY: Deacon Adrainne Gray

EASTER VIGIL: Rev. Tuhina Verma Rasche

RESURRECTION OF OUR LORD, EASTER DAY: Rev. Dr. Andrea L. Walker

  1. What’s most ironic about the CRT mess, which is pushing rabid feminism, porneia, transvestism, marxism, etc. under the guise of standing against racism, is that what they’re actually trying to dismantle is God’s created order, and in so doing they are implying that God, through His word, is a white supremacist. Which is pretty much the same exact stupidity the nazified crowd spews. They’re both essentially the same. Same wickedness of the heart. Same reprobate stupidity.

  2. Jesus was White. The Shroud of Turin proves it. And the gospel was in Paul’s time to the Jew (White) first and then to the Greek (White). After 70 AD its to the Greek (White) first and to the Jew (White) last. It doesn’t mean no black can be saved. But most will be like these freaks in the article, demons jealous of God’s greatest creation, the straight White man.
