Self-Proclaimed “Black Darwin” of Biologos Declares Social Justice Our Only Hope

Biologos, the theistic evolution organization founded by Francis Collins and heavily supported by Tim Keller, is swimming in the primordial goo of false teaching and leftist ideology. Many theistic evolutionists begin their deconstruction by denying the historicity of the first three chapters of Genesis; a perspective quickly devolves into a denial of any other inconvenient Biblical truths.

Biologos refuses to take a position on Biblical inerrancy and openly admits that its members have a broad range of views on whether the Bible is inerrant. The result is inevitably a theology that denies the trustworthiness of Biblical narrative. In a vacuum of truth, Biologos and its founder Francis Collins, have embraced numerous worldly ideologies that directly contradict the truth of scripture.

As head of the NIH, Collins oversaw an increase in the ghoulish use of murdered baby parts for scientific research, made overtures towards the acceptance of antibiblical and anti-science LGBTQ affirming policies, and directed the COVID masking and vaccine public policy charade that convinced millions of Christians that they should live fearfully and forsake the assembly of the local church.

Keeping in step with the deconstruction trends at Biologos, Joseph L Graves, an up-and-coming Biologos conference speaker, recently announced, in an article released on the Biologos website, that humanity faces extinction, and its only hope is social justice.

Graves, who claims that his friends and colleagues call him “Black Darwin” for his prowess in the field of evolutionary studies, might also have earned the title “Black Greta Thunberg” for his recent baseless doomsday predictions about the future extinction of humanity. Graves doesn’t offer any explanations for his belief that the human race is doomed to “extinction,” but he claims to have a divine calling, which he compares to the “Voice in the Wilderness” of John the Baptist, only to proclaim the “truth” of social justice.

Still, I feel I was placed here for a reason. Like John the Baptist, I was called on to give voice to the truth.  (A Voice in the Wilderness, excerpt from Conclusion)

Graves believes that the justice provided by God at the end of days is not sufficient. He clearly denies the sovereignty of God in such matters.

Unfortunately, there are too many within the broad tent of our faith who are entirely comfortable with the status quo, or who simply think that we are in the “end times” and Jesus will soon sort everything out.

Graves’ social justice resolution unmasks the gospel according to Biologos. That gospel is the false Social Gospel of social justice. Graves is just a secular humanist, cosplaying as a Christian.

In the final chapter of my book, I outline a path towards social justice that all people of goodwill can get behind, so that like Amos 5:4 we might “…let justice roll down like waters. And righteousness like an ever-flowing stream.” I also emphasize what is at stake if we don’t do anything. Social justice is our only hope, not just because it is morally right and long overdue but because without it our species will die. We are now in a race between justice and extinction. I conclude that we now have a choice to decide to save ourselves, but this is only possible by learning to love our neighbors the way Christ taught us.

Contrary to Graves’ lunacy, Jesus and his atoning work on the cross are the only hope for humanity. There is only one path to salvation, and it doesn’t involve human effort or “saving ourselves.”

This Jesus is the stone that was rejected by you, the builders, which has become the cornerstone. And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved. Acts 4:11-12

Is Trump the ‘Christ, the Son of Man’? This Blaspheming Crackpot Thinks So

During a recent rally in Ohio where Trump was on tap to endorse JD Vance for Senator, a flyer was seen being given out to rally goers to advertise a book being sold on site: the blasphemously President Donald J. Trump, The Son of Man – The Christ.

Released by professing Christian raging heretic Helgard Müller, the book argues that there are two Christs- Jesus and former President Donald Trump, and spends much of the 300+ pages seeking to draw similarities between the two figures (i.e., Jesus was betrayed by Judas, Trump was betrayed by Pence.) The promo material for the book reads:

During the presidency of President Donald Trump, it became evident to me that the prophecies about the Son of Man, as predicted by Jesus in the Bible were, to a significant extent, fulfilled at the hands of Mr. Trump. The Bible speaks about two different Christs-or Messiahs. Jesus, the Son of God is the one Christ, whereas the Son of Man is the other.

…This book will explain in depth how “Donald John Trump’s” full name literally means: “The Ruler of the World, graced by Yahweh (the LORD) and a descendant of a Drummer.” Upon reading this book, the reader will be captivated when they realize how President Donald John Trump fulfilled most of the prophecies as the Son of Man. It speaks about End Time Prophecies and Biblical revelations regarding “President Donald J. Trump, the Son of Man. The Christ.”

Self-published by Mueller, author of the equally bizarre ‘Five Gods of the Bible,’ all indication is that this book is a hoax, but rather he really believes it; at least enough to to have traveled around and promoted it for the last six months.

Mark Driscoll Suspended From TikTok For The Usual Reason

After going radio silent for years, Mark Driscoll continues to dip his toe into Christian culture to see if Evangelicalism’s memory is as short as he suspects in order to wedge his way back into the conversation, announcing on Twitter that he’s been suspended from TikTok after allegedly saying ‘Men can’t have babies.”

Driscoll gained attention this year in a big way, appearing in several articles outlining a renewed pattern of bullying and abusive behavior, along with a complete repudiation of biblical elders and any sense of accountability, which can be seen at the links below:

SBC. President Bart Barber Slanders Abortion Abolitionists + Lies About Ectopic Pregnancies and Coercion

Newly minted Southern Baptist Convention President Bart Barber is proving to be one of the most divisive leaders in the the denomination’s history, creating an outcry on social media after he repeatedly misrepresented and slandered SBC Pastor Dusty Deevers, saying that a tweet critical of the ERLC’s handing of the Louisiana’s abortion legislation represents the “lowest point of dishonesty to which we can descend.”

Famously, The ERLC signed an open letter to legislators urging them to squash an abolitionist bill introduced before the overturning of Roe v. Wade because the law granted pre-born babies equal protection under the law. Barber and ERLC President Brent Leatherwood hate the concept of equal protection. Where we would argue that if it’s a crime worthy of punishment to kill babies outside the womb, it should be a crime deserving of punishment to kill them in the womb, neither man supports that idea, urging partiality to the breathing child and not the one in the amniotic sac.

To make his point, Barber begins asserting what abolitionist bills look like, disparaging Deevers further by arguing that abolitionist bills make no exception for cases of the mother being coerced and that there are no exceptions for ectopic pregnancies, which is a complete fabrication and outright lie.

Scott Colter points out as Barber continues down this thread: “Don’t miss what is happening here. On full display, the president of the Southern Baptist Convention is maligning, misrepresenting, and using his influence to agitate a social media mob against a local church pastor who holds a genuine position with which he disagrees.”

Barber is stunningly ignorant of which he speaks. With Louisiana’s 2022 HB 813, the lesgislation in question that the ERLC fought to kill. the bill’s question and answer clearly states:

Q: Could a mother forced into an abortion be convicted?
A: No. The bill explicitly provides that a mother forced into an abortion under duress is not subject to criminal liability. PAGE 2, LINES 15-23 of HB813.

Q: Would the bill allow doctors to deal with medical emergencies like ectopic pregnancies?
A: Yes. The bill does not alter existing Louisiana caselaw, which provides that “[a] person is excused from criminal liability if he acts under a duress of circumstances to protect life… in a reasonable manner and with no other acceptable choice.” State v. Recard, 704 So.2d 324, 328 (La. App. 3 Cir. 11/26/97). See also State v. Smith, 777 So. 2d 584, 587 (La. App. 4 Cir 12/20/00) (“T]his doctrine has been applied in circumstances other than those enumerated in La. R.S. 14:18”).

So what is Barber talking about? This prompts James White and others to chime in:

Rather than having a humble attitude and willingness to listen, Barber reiterates that Leatherwood isn’t “against the innocent pre-born” even though the man denies pre-born children equal protection under the law and allows them to be murdered without impunity. He closes with further invectives against Deevers and fellow abolitionists:

It’s shameful, embarrassing, and quite frankly pathetic. If Barber had any integrity he would delete his thread, publicly repent of it, deal honestly with his critics, and then not come back until he’s halfway educated about what he’s trying to talk about.

‘Bling Pastor’ Grabs Female Congregant and Shoves Her Off Pulpit After Interrupting Him.

The prosperity preacher who was allegedly robbed at gunpoint during a live-streamed service and relieved of an estimated $400,000 in watches, rings and chains, as well as who showed off his massive ‘Prayer Closet’ full of designer clothes, has now grabbed a woman on stage and manhandled her, according to a video of his service.

Bishop Lamor Miller-Whitehead is the founder of Brooklyn-based Leaders of Tomorrow International Ministries, a false church if ever there was one. His ministry was registered as a for-profit business in 2014 and the church denies the Trinity, with his website’s statement of faith reading “There is one God, Creator of all things, infinitely perfect, and eternally existing in three manifestations: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.” Ie, the dude is a rank heretic and everything about his pastorate and church is decrepit and false.

During a recent event he was seen grabbing a woman by the back of the neck and forcing her off stage after she interrupts him. The Daily Mail reports:

… he seems to get interrupted as he abruptly stops his sermon to listen to someone in the crowd.

‘Let ’em record, let ’em record,’ he tells his congregation, before deciding to take a ‘pause’ as a woman could be heard screaming at him.

‘You want to come preach?’ the bishop asks her. ‘You want to come preach, come up here. I’m gonna make you famous, yes Lord.’

He then starts asking the congregation to praise Jesus, while speaking in tongues, only to end his prayer by saying: ‘Now remove her out of here, move her out of here.’

Whitehead then seems to want to move on from the situation, telling his congregation: ‘Let’s give Jesus a round of applause, y’all.’

He continues to repeat the message ‘while they take the pictures.

‘Take the pictures, take the pictures,’ he eggs them on.

That is when a woman in a brown and pink floral top enters from the left side of the screen as Whitehead gets increasingly close to her. He could then be seen lifting his hands at her head as he pushes her out of frame.

‘Go over here, go over here,’ he tells the woman. ‘Grab her out.’

He could later be heard telling her off-screen: ‘Press whatever charges you want, you’re not going to come in my space. I feel threatened.’

When he comes back to the altar a few moments later, he simply says: ‘Let’ get back to the word of God.’

#1 Female Evangelist in the World is Selling THIS Item for $5,333 Dollars

Singer Juanita Bynum, the prosperity- gospel preaching prophetess and self-described “Number 1 Female Evangelist in the World” according to a nifty biographical booklet that she prepared, is selling something on her website that we’ve never seen before, and charging a premium for doing so.

Selling spiritual swag is a common enough thing, from Bethel Church selling a “declaration clicker” to track faith increases, Jim Bakker selling a $1000 “Miracle Blanket,” and even someone peddling a Joel Osteen Inspiration Machine, we’ve seen it before, and Bynum is no different. After all, her wedding cost over a million dollars, so you know she is desirous of filthy lucre and everything it buys.

On her page, she begins by giving 500$ off her $2000 class, which has seven sessions and a live Q & A afterward and includes perks like the “sacred anointing oil” and a branded tote bag.

There is a ‘Sacred Prayer Kit’ for $133, which is proffered as a “sacred and secret weapon in the arsenal of the believer! ” The kit, which contains some oil, a handkerchief, a prayer shawl, and a bottle of water, is described as having been “saturated and preserved in a consecrated place with the intent of releasing divine healing, deliverance, breakthroughs and restoration to every person that receives it. The harvest on this invaluable love gift will bless you and your household for generations to come!

You can purchase her topical bible for $99, which lets you “Go beyond the words to understand the true meaning and activation of the scriptures” or you can pay $152 for a calendar and a journal to “understand the meaning of God’s timing for the year 2022-2023.”

Lastly are these gems: a card that gives you discounts on her products. These range from $33 for 5% off, to $3,333 for 20%.

And then there is the the granddaddy of them all, a ‘Black Vow Card’ that gives a 25% discount on her products for the tidy sum of $5,333, meaning you’d have to spend tens of thousands of dollars in merch to even be worth it. We wonder if this could be used to purchase another Black Vow Card?

Attendance Down 95%? Tavner Smith’s Venue Church Crumbles As New Congregation Seeks to Take Over

Venue Church used to be among the fastest-growing churches in the nation, topping 1500 people spread across four services and two locations. Then the pastor and senior leader, Tavner Smith, cheated on his wife, divorced her, and subsequently had an illicit affair with his worship leader/ personal assistant, resulting in a mass exodus of staff and congregants.

How bad is it? Based on a video from their church service yesterday, attendance is down an estimated 95%. While the church’s YouTube channel is careful only to show Taver preaching, whoever controlled the stream made a rare misstep and shared the church sanctuary before the service, revealing how bare and stark it is. There are huge gaps between the chairs, between the rows, and the center aisle is practically a chasm, with scarcely two dozen people.

With the church hemorrhaging money, owing creditors at least 130k, having no cash reserves, and defaulting on their rent for months, they declared bankruptcy several weeks ago in an attempt to hang on to their building at least, which was vision-casted by Smith in happier times.

This is unlikely to happen. Another thriving church, Rockpointe, is looking to expand, announcing to their congregation that they are still seeking to purchase the property and take it over, working with banks, lawyers, and real estate agents to pry the facilities out of the cold, begrudging hands of the disgraced pastor who has no path forward other than to sell.

Big Tech Censorship Rebuked by Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals

(Mile High Evening News) Spurred by a Texas law prohibiting big tech platforms from censoring speech on their platforms based on viewpoint, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit issued a blistering ruling that rebuked platforms who had sued to block the law’s implementation, opening the door for the Supreme Court to weigh in on whether or not companies like YouTube, Facebook, or Twitter are permitted to censor or block speech they deem objectionable.

Texas AG Ken Paxton celebrated the ruling:

Big tech platforms represented by the Computer Communications Industry Association and NetChoice sued Texas, arguing that the law represented a violation of their unenumerated First Amendment right to censor speech on their platforms and asking for the court to find the law facially unconstitutional (that is, invalid in all contexts and cases).

The 113-page opinion (which includes dissenting and partially dissenting opinions) opens up with a foundational rebuke of the platforms’ argument:

In urging such sweeping relief, the platforms offer a rather odd inversion of the First Amendment. That Amendment, of course, protects every person’s right to “the freedom of speech.” But the platforms argue that buried somewhere in the person’s enumerated right to free speech lies a corporation’s unenumerated right to muzzle speech.

The implications of the platforms’ argument are staggering. On the platforms’ view, email providers, mobile phone companies, and banks could cancel the accounts of anyone who sends an email, makes a phone call, or spends money in support of a disfavored political party, candidate, or business. What’s worse, the platforms argue that a business can acquire a dominant market position by holding itself out as open to everyone—as Twitter did in championing itself as “the free speech wing of the free speech party.” Blue Br. at 6 & n.4. Then, having cemented itself as the monopolist of “the modern public square,” Packingham v. North Carolina, 137 S. Ct. 1730, 1737 (2017), Twitter unapologetically argues that it could turn around and ban all pro-LGBT speech for no other reason than its employees want to pick on members of that community, Oral Arg. at 22:39–22:52. Today we reject the idea that corporations have a freewheeling First Amendment right to censor what people say. Because the district court held otherwise, we reverse its injunction and remand for further proceedings.

The law was put on hold in May by the Supreme Court until the Fifth Circuit issued the full ruling. The CCIA and NetChoice are expected to appeal the ruling to the Supreme Court. As it stands, the ruling represents a victory for free speech proponents and a major defeat for the censorship of big tech.

It’s a Miracle?! Megachurch Pastor says He Helped Regrow a Woman’s Breasts

Guillermo Maldonado is the co-founder and senior pastor of El Rey Jesús, a 20,000-member megachurch in Miami, Florida, that is the largest Hispanic church in the United States. The author and self-styled “apostle” also oversees over 500 churches in 70 countries through his Supernatural Global Network, representing more than 750,000 people.

We’ve written about him a few times, such as Divorcing Megachurch Pastors Fight over $120M Estate, and featured him several times in our wealthy pastor’s roundup, given that he regularly wears watches in excess of $150k. A noted prosperity preacher who teaches the ‘law of increase,’ he claims to have raised the dead and healed all sorts of people in miraculous ways, including regrowing women’s breasts. Speaking to NAR Queen Cindy Jacobs, who takes it all in uncritically:

And then (God told me) ‘Tell the people I want to create new organs.’ And I call out all the person that needed a gallbladder, new knee. And you know, a lot of people came to the altar. And among those people came a lady that her breast- two breast had been removed 17 years ago, because of cancer.

And I asked her, What do you need from God? She goes ‘I need my two breasts’…. She fell on the floor. When she got up. She was screaming. I mean, she (was) laughing, rejoicing, crying and I say ‘what happened?’ She goes, I got my two breasts’

The Lord showed me that he already assigned angels to bring those new organs for the people to receive it. And I always tell the people; ‘make sure you receive it because otherwise that angel’s gonna take that organ back to heaven.’

Oh I’ve seen it before, one breast but not two breasts…. There was somebody that had an accident and they cut off one of his legs. And, you know, he said he was watching and then suddenly he felt the presence coming out of the TV. And then he said, ‘I believe my leg is gonna grow back’. And then he says ‘suddenly the presence fell’. And then he said he felt his leg grow back.

(Jacobs: “Oh, wow. And I think I remember video where fingers grew, didn’t it?”

Yeah fingers. I’ve seen hair grow back, fingers grow back. I’ve seen internal organs, like bladders, like, you know, all kinds of hearts, new hearts. So we’ve been seeing all kinds of that kind of miracles.”

We have no reason to believe that despite his wild claims, Guillermo Maldonado has ever healed a single person in his life.

h/t to the Friendly Atheist for the story. One day we’ll be friends.
