Drenda Keesee is the co-pastor and founder of Faith Life Church, a hyper-charismatic multi-site church she oversees with her husband, Gary, in New Albany, Ohio.
Notably, Drenda and her husband are under fire and are both being sued after their son, Tom, a former youth pastor at Faith Life, was accused of molesting four young girls at the church between the ages of 4 and 15 (including his own sister) and faces 32 felony sex charges. The suit says Drenda and Gary both knew about it and covered it up.
In fact, prior to the indictment, and AFTER their daughter came forward with allegations against her brother, Drenda and Gary defended their son and argued that there was “another side of the story.”
They told church members during one of their services: “All hell is breaking loose out there … but truth will prevail. There’s another side. And the truth will come out.”
Naturally, things have been tense.
During a recent service, which featured guest speaker ‘prophet’ Robin Bullock and was all about how their church is coming under attack by the schemes of the devil and a Shaman in their region, Drenda came to the front and gave congregants a word from the Lord.
Opening her bible and saying, “When we stepped up here, I just flipped my scripture open. I’ve never read this,” she proceeded to read from Ezekiel 5 without bothering to read it first or ahead.
Tellingly, Ezekiel 5 is about judgment against the people, and Drenda slowly becomes more and more aware of what she’s reading. At the same time, the other leaders look around uncomfortably as she reads passages like…
“I will abandon you on the land;
I will hurl you on the open field.
I will put your flesh on the mountains
And fill the valleys with your refuse.
I will also make the land drink the discharge of your blood
And when I extinguish you,
I will cover the heavens and darken their stars
I will also vex the hearts of many peoples when I bring your destruction among the nations”
In fact, the verse right after she finally quit reading goes on to say:
“I will make many peoples appalled at you, and their kings will be horribly afraid of you when I brandish My sword before them; and they will tremble every moment, every man for his own life, on the day of your downfall.”
This may be the first true ‘word from the Lord’ this church has ever had.
