Church by the Glades in Coral Springs is a self-described “hyper-creative church” whose core philosophy has become a mantra for their praxis, with lead pastor David Hughes frequently saying, “We will do anything short of sin to reach people who don’t know Christ.”
Known for their extravagant attempts to keep their members entertained, in the past few years they’ve performed Kendrick Lamar’s N95, only cleaned up and sanitized for church audiences, removing the curse words and racial epitaphs for a sermon illustration, put on a Willy Wonka Christmas worship service’, put on crazy ‘Baby Shark’ mashup during service, replete with smoke and canons!, put on an Addams family themed service, and most recently a Beyoncé’ Medley, ft. skintight pants, fog machines, and motorbikes.
For their One Day or Day One sermon series, the church’s ‘creative team’ used F1 as a hook to get folks and racing fans through the door, bringing in a ‘million dollar’ McLaren 765LT supercar.

For their first few services, pastor Hughes drove the McLaren onto the stage for the sermon portion, with fog machines and strobe lights marking his grand entrance. But the car wouldn’t start or drive off at the end of the 1:00 service, leaving the production team “scrambling,” so the car stayed on stage and spoiled the grand entrance for the evening service.
"The production team has been scrambling."

Hughes previously explained his rationale for putting on wild church services, using obscene bible twisting to explain:
“The church should have a show- every weekend we should have a show. I’ll tell you why. For my super spirituals right now, don’t log off, because Jesus promised and Matthew’s Gospel that anytime two or three or more would gather in his name, he would SHOW.
Welcome to this… I don’t know what to call this anymore. I really don’t. The team does such a great job. Give it up for our creative people, if you would-thank you guys, for making this so much fun.
