Wisconsin Right to Life (@WRTL on X), the state’s oldest and largest pro-life organization, is pressuring political candidates to oppose equal protection in their candidate surveys, according to the prominent abortion abolitionist group Foundation to Abolish Abortion (@AbolitionistFAA).
In WRTL’s 2026 state candidate questionnaire, which is offered to all political hopefuls, after reiterating that they don’t support any punishment for women who kill their babies, they tell candidates that “turning women who have abortions into criminals or subjecting them to civil penalties is not the way” and insist that “women are also victims of abortion.”

The candidate survey invokes the infamous Pro-Life establishment national open letter against equal protection, saying that “70 mainstream prolife organizations including @WRTL signed a letter condemning any legislation or law that seeks to place criminal and civil penalties for women who abort.”
The candidates are then directly asked: “Would you oppose all legislation that includes civil or criminal penalties to criminalize or punish a woman who has an abortion?”@WRTL is one of many Pro-Life establishment groups asking candidates to oppose equal protection, often making such opposition a factor in their endorsement decisions.
This question from @WRTL appears on the first and second pages of their eleven-page candidate survey, reflecting the priority at which they place keeping abortion legal for women.

In recent years I’ve come to see just how accurately and perfectly the Genesis account of Creation describes the dynamics between men and women. It perfectly describes the differences between men and women. It perfectly describes the created order. And the evidence is staring us all in the face all day every day. Those who most ardently stand against God’s created order only prove the existence of His created order in everything they say and do. Who do they blame? Men. And guess what, that is the created order. Men do indeed bear the brunt of responsibility. It was through Adam’s distrust in the Lord that sin and death entered the world. Women are indeed the weaker vessel. Scripture says that Eve fell into transgression (1 Tim. 2:14). She was deceived. But the Sprint tells us through Paul that Adam was not deceived – he just deliberately outright rebelled against the Lord, called the Lord a liar in his heart, and disobeyed when God had warned him. And somehow in eating that fruit, I tend to believe these days, all of creation was corrupted. The consequence certainly wouldn’t have needed to be natural due consequence. It certainly could’ve been a supernatural act of God. But I tend to believe these days that it very well could’ve been a natural due consequence. Something was in that fruit that passed through Adam and got into the ecosystem, which then caused the ground to be cursed, thorns and thistles to spring up, and so on (Gen 3). God said “cursed is the ground because of you”. It was a consequence. As all of God’s commandments are not just mere dictate, but are warnings to us, because He knows a lot that we do not come close to knowing or understanding.
Not to get too far off track here, I believe we need to carefully examine the scriptures concerning the issue at hand, because it is not always as cut and dried as it may seem. We cannot just generalize. And we must make certain that men are held accountable. Right, if there is a man involved who has coerced, pressured, encouraged, etc. a woman to murder her child, then that man is himself guilty of murder, bears more responsibility than she does, and should face consequences and punishment in accordance with the created order. Women certainly can commit murder of their own accord, and certainly can be solely guilty of it. But each case must be dealt with individually. And any laws written must take such concerns into account. Those who pity women and say they’re never guilty, are always the victim, even the most ardent feminists who place the blame on men, are actually not that too far off, because they are implicitly recognizing the existence of God’s created order. That is certainly not always the case. A woman is certainly not always the victim. But in many cases, she certainly could be.
I don’t know all the answers, but I believe we need to carefully consider all that the scripture says. Absolutely, unborn children are human beings with a right to live. Absolutely abortion is murder. There is no question about that. But we’ve also got to take into account more of God’s standards and moral law, respect the created order, and make sure men are also held accountable. Make sure women who need help are helped. Very importantly, turn away from and shun sexual immorality, because that is at the root of the problem. Strongly and sternly hold other men accountable. So on and so forth …
If we do that, then even some of the most ardent pro-death feminists might begin to have a change of heart. Because when they say men are responsible for much of the problems, they are not wrong about that. We are. All the way back to Adam, we bear the brunt of responsibility. In many cases they fight for God’s created order while they simultaneously try to dismantle it. The more they try to dismantle what God has put into place, the more they prove it is reality. And much of what they’re doing is more about a war against men than it is about the desire to murder children. They advocate for the murder of children as a matter of defiance and activism, more than anything else. We cannot pick and choose which of God’s standards we will follow. They all work as a whole – and they do work. We’ve got to embrace the whole of God’s standards and created order. And if that is done, then I believe that’s when we’ll start making more of a difference and many will be led to the Lord …
The law given to Moses works as a whole. The created order works as a whole. So, for example, unless a law is passed that says an adulterous man must be put to death, then the law of the land is going to fall short in terms of properly addressing the issue in its entirety. Rape must be a death penalty offense. Even adultery. Right. Sexual immoral men must be punished. There must be consequences. But instead our “society” encourages young men to be sexually immoral, while at the same time encouraging young women to be chaste. That cannot work. And it doesn’t work.
There’s more to it, and we cannot just pick and choose the parts of God’s standards that we want to follow.
I’m a good example of it. And old unmarried man who is a virgin. I’m considered lesser. Many have a notion that there is something wrong with me. I just didn’t go out partying and sleeping around like the other boys did, and never have. But one thing is certain, I’ve never contributed to the murder of an unborn child, in any way shape or form. So maybe the Lord uses some of us for that purpose – just to show that His way does indeed work. I’m still surviving just fine. I’m no less of a man. So who knows. We’ll understand it all by and by …
Then again. In the garden there were only two of them. Nobody but Adam and Eve. With only two outside influences. Their Creator. And the serpent. No “society”. Nothing of the sort. Yet the same dynamic existed, and the same sin occurred … something to think about … all truly are without excuse, as it says in Romans 1.
And it was the same sin … from the same wickedness of the heart. It’s all rooted in calling God a liar.
Every person ever conceived has died because of Adam’s sin. He is, in a very real sense, a murderer. In fact, a genocidal, mass murderer, in a very real sense. He was warned. But he was not deceived – he deliberately brought death into the world. Whether a person is murdered at conception, or dies at a ripe old age of 100, that person dies because of Adam …
Even from a biological standpoint. There are times when women’s hormones will just about go berserk. Right. Pregnancy can be one of those times. And in such times, they don’t have the “agency” they’d like to have – they’re ruled by their hormones. In those times, they are weaker and susceptible to deception, manipulation, and so on.
It all points to the existence of God’s created order and the fact that men bear most of the responsibility.
In some cases, the woman is indeed a victim. In other cases, she is not. Each case must be judged individually. And where a man is complicit and/or responsible, there must be severe consequence. We can’t pick and choose which of God’s standards we want to follow. That cannot work. We must heed and follow them all.
