‘Shepherds for Sale’ Author Megan Basham Gives Fantastic Update Following Colorectal Cancer Diagnosis

A year and a half after NYT bestselling author and cultural commentator Megan Basham announced on X that she had been diagnosed with ‘stage three, advanced colorectal cancer,’ she shared over the weekend the amazing news that, following months of grueling treatment, tests results show she is presently cancer-free.

Basham, who is married with two young daughters, is known for her reporting at The Daily Wire and her book ‘Shepherds for Sale: How Evangelical Leaders Traded the Truth for a Leftist Agenda,’ shared that she was diagnosed with cancer shortly after Thanksgiving in 2024.

The five-year survival rate for stage 3 colorectal cancer is between 66-74%, depending on multiple factors, with a stage 4 progression dropping the survival rate precipitously to 11-13%

Basham underwent a year of chemo and radiation, including neoadjuvant therapy, whose goal is ‘total response’, meaning that it ‘obliterates the cancer before we even get to the surgery stage so that surgery might not be needed.’

Praise the Lord, and continue to keep her and her family in your prayers.
