Mike Lee is a prominent Republican senator from Utah and a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. While we share his conservative politics and view him to be a good cobelligerent in many areas, we have tussled with him a few times, most recently after he took exception to our video featuring the trashing of the Book of Mormon.
I can’t imagine doing this to someone else’s sacred text—let alone documenting it for all the world to see

@Prostestia, whoever you are, I hope you’re able to find peace—or at least obtain relief from whatever pain you have that torments you enough to do this
Lee has been on an ‘X’ spree these past few days after finding out that the Defense Department drastically reduced the number of religions it officially recognizes.
Military Magazine notes that it purged more than 180 faiths and worldviews, including “Atheists, Asatru, Deists, Druids, Eckankar, Heathens, Humanists, Magick, New Age churches, Pagan, Rosicrucianism, Shaman, Spiritualists, Troth, Unitarian Universalists, and various Wiccans”, in favor of just 31.
Notably, while the Mormon Church is present, it has not been categorized as a ‘Christian’ religion, resulting in Mike Lee crashing out and posting more than 40 times about it.

While Mormonism is a bizarre un-biblical cult, and has been recognized as such by Christians for decades, their desire to be seen by Christians as Christian is a recent development, as J.D. Hall, (@lostmyhats) responding to Lee, explains further:

Looks like Lee’s efforts have paid off, however, all but announcing that Trump will see it added to the list of Christian faiths.
I just got off the phone with President Trump

We discussed the Pentagon’s “Christian list”
I won’t speak for him, but I’m thrilled about where this is heading
We’re most fortunate that President Trump (1) loves Latter-day Saints, and (2) is our commander in chief
