More than a year after Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship Pastor Tony Evans announced that he was stepping away from public ministry on account of unnamed sins he committed, he has returned to the pulpit, preaching at Salem Baptist Church of Chicago, a progressive church led by Charlie Dates who once invited a Democrat lesbian to preach.

During his introduction, Dates honored him as “America’s preacher” and a “new generation of sages” that is “moving into a new sphere.”
I want to take the time we have remaining on television to get our preacher up so the people everywhere can be blessed by his ministry. You know him already. He is America’s preacher and he is a gift to us.
There is a new generation of sages that are moving into a new sphere and he’s one of them.
He has blessed us- am I right about it?- down through the years. We’ve read his books. We’ve listened to his preaching. We’ve been encouraged. And now he’s here in the flesh with us.
