‘He’s not a liar.’ Church Leadership Defends Pastor Who Claimed ‘I Rubbed Oil Over Jesus’ Naked Body’

The senior pastor of Vineyard Church Northwest has issued a statement regarding their church seer, Micah Turnbo, following an exposé by apologist Mike Winger regarding a multitude of controversial statements he has made. The statement defends Turnbo’s giftedness and calling while chastening Winger for his lack of charity and discernment.

Turnbo, who is Pastor of Prophetic Ministry at Vineyard Church Northwest in Cincinnati, Ohio, and the founder of Behold Wonder, came under the scrutiny of Winger for claiming, among other things, that he frequently goes to heaven and frolics around where he experiences fantastical extra-biblical revelation.

Turnbo reveals he once sat on God the Father’s lap and played with God’s sparkly beard, that God the Father likes eating ‘spicy food’ whereas Jesus has a ‘sweet tooth,’ that an angel appeared to him while he was pooping and gave him revelation regarding his “floaters,” that Judas is in heaven, that Jesus’ favorite marvel hero is “Spider-Man” and that he loves watching Avengers movies, and that Jesus entered into his video game and became a character while angels gave him tricks for beating the game.

He has also insisted that, as a prophet, being accurate is his “least concern.”

Turnbo, who claims he was delivered from homosexuality a decade ago, frequently raised eyebrows for his insistence that men and women need to start kissing Jesus on the lips because that is what the Lord wants. He also claimed he had an encounter with Jesus where he and Jesus undressed in front of each other and got totally naked, and where Turnbo proceeded to rub oil all over Jesus’ naked body at his request.

In response to the video, Senior Pastor of Vineyard Church Northwest, Luke Haselmayer, has issued a statement acknowledging that Turnbo “could’ve been more theologically careful in some recent podcasts.”

Micah readily admits that he does not always have full understanding of some of the things he experiences, and may even, at times, partially misinterpret them, take them too far, and at times, like any human being, misremember some details.

That brief acknowledgment aside, Haselmayer went on to ferociously defend Turnbo, pointing out that “Micah publicly reaffirmed that he always subordinates his prophetic experiences to Scripture” while disagreeing with Winger that he was being “too charitable in how I receive Micah’s revelations.”

Though Mike (Winger) would say otherwise, I think he’s confusing his personal “common sense” with biblical discernment. Most (not all) of the time, it seems to me that what he finds strange in Micah’s visions likely offends his intuition more than it violates Scripture. He also presents Micah like he thoughtlessly and blindly decides what and what not to share, when in reality, Micah often agonizes over what to disclose and intentionally seeks Jesus for permission.

He concludes:

There’s more I will say, but let me conclude with this: Micah Turnbo is not a liar. Micah Turnbo is not delusional. God has supernaturally confirmed this man to me more times than I can count.

Many of you have heard of the extraordinary dream I had in 2014 where God indisputably did so. I’ve been close friends with Micah for 11 years. I’ve seen his character in private and in public. I’ve seen him minister from stages and in living rooms. He has been consistent, trustworthy, full of good fruit, and always wholly committed to pointing people toward friendship with Jesus.

  1. If people are dumb enough to believe the stories of the bible itself it’s no wonder so many get sucked into the next layer of stupidity.

    1. and yet spiritually blind atheists will fight to defend their belief that nothing created everything. It takes an awful lot of faith to be an atheist…

  2. Christians had better be careful, or religions and its churches will become the next place where Institutional delusional sociopathy will take hold, where those with real mental issues can pretend that they did things they could not possibly have done. And AND if they can just convince you they had a personal audience with Jesus or God, you must understand, are delusional. Christians would rather have all males turn into “Beta Males”, turning the other cheek instead of standing their ground against aggression by psychopathic individuals who believe it is their right to rule over others.

    1. What do you mean “the next place where Institutional delusional sociopathy will take hold…”?
It has already infiltrated the church like leaven. The good thing, though – if one can call it as such – is that it is exposing the tares, false teachers and those with itching ears who are willingly bereft of Biblical discernment. True Christians should consider these lost souls as part of the harvest fields and evangelize them just like we would unbelievers.

      1. Charismatics are outside the church because they reject Sola Scriptura for Sola Lunatica. So it has not taken hold in the church, but in the cult of the crazies.

        1. I get paid over 220 Dollars per hour working from home with 2 kids at home. i never thought i’d be able to do it but my best friend earns over 15k a month doing this and she convinced me to try. it was all true and has totally changed my life. 2. That is why it is necessary to be a Cessationist. Catholicism has female saints who carved images of Jesus into their boobs due to hallucinatory “visions” and the Charismatics are heading in that retarded papist direction. Well, it might only have been one, Margaret Mary Alacoque, who Jay Dyer loves to bring up constantly to own the papists for his rival Mary worship cult.

  3. Days of Noah and The Great Apostasy pretty much sum all this mess up… if this isn’t “doctrines of demons” I don’t know what is..

As much as this is extremely disturbing, I still find hope in The Lord in all these things; simply because He told us these things would happen both in the Old and New Testament. Maranatha !!

“But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.” – Matthew 24:37-39

“And Jesus answered and said to them: “Take heed that no one deceives you. For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many. ” – Matthew 24:4-5

“Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. But he who endures to the end shall be saved.” – Matthew 24:11-13

“Thus says the Lord God: “Woe to the foolish prophets, who follow their own spirit and have seen nothing!” – Ezekiel 13:3

“Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron” – 1 Timothy 4:1-3

  4. this is BLASPHEMY ! God will not be mocked and if he doesn’t repent, turnbo will One Day hear the words “depart, I never knew you !”

  5. Your new blog software takes too long to load. Nobody wants to see a spinning widget for 3 secs on each page load. Revert.

  6. If this Luke Haselmayer guy is defending this, then he is gay like Micah Turnbo clearly is. Either that, or he is a libtard white with white guilt who thinks he must kneejerk defend every insane heretical thing a black pseudo-pastor does because his great grandpappy was a Jewish slave owner who make blacks pick his cotton or something like that. That is why its good that James White and Corey Mahler will be debating “black sanctification” on the 15th. Because essentially all these stories of these weird gay black heretic pastors who dream about making out with Jesus, or who wear women’s clothes, or get into gross details about the sex they have with their butt ugly wives in their sermons, all of this ultimately boils down to the subject of “black sanctification” (whatever that is) AS DOES the white guilt of these Jewish fake whites who say “howdy fellow white people, I’m one of you, and I say you must accept this weird pervo gay theology because its coming from a black gay, I mean guy, and you wouldn’t want to be racist like that Corey Mahler guy now would ya?”

    1. The dave s comment is most certainly not the template for opposition to the heresies of young Micah

      1. Nobody would fall for his heresies who is not a low IQ black though. What White person will be stupid enough to believe that Jesus made up with a black dude? Ergo, my comment is the template for dealing with the heresy of Blackness: just ignore all black theologians, preachers, “prophets,” because being black they all smoke marijauna on top of being born with exceeding low IQ.
