DOJ Closes Investigation of Sexual Abuse in SBC, Finding Nothing But a Cratering Russell Moore

The U.S. Department of Justice’s (DOJ) investigation into the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) is no more after the Baptist press reported that the probe into the denomination and its entities has concluded with no sexual abuse-related charges being filed. SBC attorneys Gene Besen and Scarlett Nokes told BP:
“Earlier today, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York informed us that the investigation into the Southern Baptist Convention and Executive Committee has officially concluded. We are pleased that the matter has been resolved without any charges or further expense against the Executive Committee or other SBC entities. It has been an honor to represent and support the Convention and the EC throughout this process.”
The closure is a “slap-you-across-the-face” rebuke to former ERLC president Russell Moore, who notoriously accused the denomination of engaging in systematic sexual abuse in his weasely “leaked” letter.
These “revelations” and “cry for help” prompted the DOJ to take an interest in 2022 and start digging, resulting in the denomination spending $2,060,534 in legal costs for this investigation alone.
However, the only charges in the last three years were against former SBTS professor and interim provost Matthew Queen, who was sentenced to six months of house arrest and a $2100 fine for lying to investigators.
As for the rest of the other churches, entities, seminaries, executive committee members, pastors, leaders, etc., within the denomination that Moore made slanderous and demagoguerous accusations against, calling sexual abuse in the SBC a “crisis” and “apocalypse.” nothing further was found.

To quote William Wolfe on X : “The real crisis in the SBC wasn’t sexual abuse or coverup. The real crisis was Russell Moore.”
SBTS professor Denny Burke wrote:

SBC President Clint Pressley likewise commented.

The only question thatg now remains is that will those who were falsely accused revcevive an apology?

Can we see the SBC now sue Russell Moore and bankrupt CT?
