The Episcopal Church Releases Updated Membership Numbers. It’s Not Good
With a median congregational age of 69 and a commitment to dolling out poisoned heresy caramels, the Episcopal Church is dying, both figuratively and literally. According to the denomination’s own projections, attendance will decline by 98% by 2041. Episcopal priestess Rev. Dwight Zscheile has lamented the losses, noting: “At this rate, there will be no one in worship by around 2050 in the entire denomination.”
It’s not hard to see why.

Episcopal Church Releases 2021 Membership and Attendance Numbers. It’s Catastrophic
According to updated statistics released by the denomination’s Office of the General Convention, the Episcopal Church has lost more than 23% of its members in the last decade and the trend shows no signs of stopping. They declined another 2.61%, which is admittedly its smallest drop in years.
Yet despite having a claimed 1,394,769 active members, only 386,468 members (or 27%) show up for weekly services and are considered to have Active Sunday Attendance. (ASA)
Furthermore, the median Active Sunday Attendance is only 38 people. Of the 6223 active congregations, 568 have less than 20 members, and 532 have less than 10, showing how precarious the denomination is and how close they are to quick extinction.
If only they would repent.
After working in an Episcopal Church for 2 years, no denomination deserves to die more than this one.
