Greg Locke Nukes Facebook Page, Deletes Viral Content That Garnered Billions of Views

Pastor Greg Locke of Global Vision Bible Church announced in a sermon that he has nuked his Facebook page, deleting thousands of videos and posts that garnered billions of views, in order to ”minimize collateral damage’ they may have caused.

In 2016, in one year, we had a billion- not million-billion. B. We had a billion Facebook views in 2016 and 2017. Not combined. That is 2 billion views in two years.

…We took [down] thousands … of videos, took about three or four days, deleted every one of them. All of them, all the rants. Not because what I said was wrong, but because when I became a man I put away childish things. And I’ve learned to say things better.

…I’m telling you, you can laugh all you want to, one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever made in my life. Facebook celebrity status is all we’ve known since 2015. And it’s not all it’s cracked up to be. It’s literally like building a tower and then just demolishing it brick by brick.

Getting emotional, Locke continues:

I don’t cry today because I wanted to keep the silly videos. I cry today because a literal burden was lifted from my shoulders. And God lifted up my head and said, ‘from here on out, your boldness will be because you are humble at heart. Not because you articulate in your words, not because you’re loud, not because you’re forceful, not because you’re demonstrative, but your power will come through your pain’

Four months ago, Locke began lamenting that he became too involved in politics to the point that is what his ministry began to be known for. It was not a baseless concern. Years ago, he invited a politician to his church that led his congregation in a spirited rendition of ‘Let’s go Brandon ) a moniker for the more coarse ‘F— Joe Biden.’ 

“I think some of it turned egocentric when it became about one loud leader with a microphone rallying the troops in such a way that we developed an atmosphere of feeling more like a political rally when you came to church, rather than a glory hub where the power and presence of the Holy Spirit would reside.”

…A man’s personality can build things big just by virtue of who he is and how he says and frames up certain things. So I think—and, let’s be honest, I know—that there have been momentary lapses in judgment of when meekness should have been the tool of ministry, but meanness got more amens.”

Now, he’s pledged to tone it down and focus on his church and especially deliverance ministry, but will still take the shot when needed.

“We’re coming into an important year, that I’m about to amp things up… but I’m not amping it up on politics. I’m not. I’ll still spit in the face of Planned Parenthood and call out baby butchers. I’m not going to compromise to the alphabet community. I’m [not] going to lay down the sword. I’m just going to be more meticulous and specialize at who we swing it at.”
