Cowardly ‘Christian’ University Disinvites Promise Keepers Over ‘Harmful’ Instagram Post

A “Christ-centered” Christian University has unceremoniously disinvited the Christian Men’s group Promise Keepers from their campus following an Instagram post they made critical of Pride Month, as revealed in a statement by the group.

Belmont University, nestled in Nashville, TN, is a non-denominational Christian University. Their mission statement proudly proclaims, “We are a Christ-centered, student-focused community, dedicated to developing diverse leaders of purpose, character, wisdom and transformational mindset, eager and equipped to make the world a better place.” The university boasts nearly 9000 students.

In 1951, the Tennessee Baptist Convention purchased the University, setting the stage for steady growth in attendance. Over the ensuing decades, however, progressivism began to creep in and poison everything it touched, eventually prompting Belmost to break free from the Baptist’s influence. In 2007, after some intense negotiations, Belmont managed to do just that, agreeing to pay the TBC a substantial $11 million to regain control.

Despite its professing Christian identity, Belmont has seen a continued trend towards progressivism and an abandonment of the biblical fidelity they so hypocritically trumpet. Awash with Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and internally distanced from a biblical perspective on marriage and sexuality, they’re reminiscent of a woman who walks around with a few creaks and groans, unaware they have stage 4 pancreatic cancer and are slowly and inexorably dying. According to a statement given to the BGN:

A Belmont official said the Promise Keepers had published comments that “unnecessarily fan the flames of culture wars and are harmful to members of our community.”

A university statement further explained: “We (are) unequivocal in our belief in the value of each human being, and we are committed to engaging in constructive conversations that demonstrate kindness and seek understanding. We will not knowingly provide a space for any group whose language we believe to lack that same respect.

What were these harmful posts?

It’s a sad and pathetic portrait of an institution rotting from the inside while projecting a picture of spiritual health and respectability. Make no mistake, the board at Belmont Univerity hates Christ and his word, and it’ll only get worse for them from here.

  1. “For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments. And his commandments are not burdensome.” – 1 John 5:3

    1. My most recent pay test was for a 12-hour-per-week internet job for 9,500 dollars. For months, my sister’s friend has been making an average of 15,000, and she puts in about 20 hours every week. As soon as I gave it a try, I was shocked at how simple it was

  2. The clueless souls running this university aren’t cowards, they are heretical antichrists, professing Christ while promoting doctrines of demons.
Parents, find somewhere else to send your kids.

  3. Given that I was laid off in a terrible financial circumstance a year ago, Google’s weekly benefit of 6850 USD in local currency is astounding. “W Many Thanks Google Reliable for Gifting those Rules and Soon It’s My Commitment to Pay and Rate It With Everyone.. right now I Started..” http://www.richpaay.blogspot.com

  4. I’m not defending the University but…
The ‘Promise Keepers’ are ecumenical and don’t endure much sound doctrine, so why the liberal university banned them is a mystery to me!?

    1. Indeed. This might come as a surprise to those who didn’t know that Promise Keepers was still going, 25 years or so after its peak of publicity. PK long ago reached the point of being in the business of perpetuating its own existence for the purpose of perpetuating its own existence.

  5. Go to the Belmont web site and you’ll find mention of the Mike Curb College of Entertainment & Music Business, named after the Republican former Lieutenant Governor of California who founded Curb Records, which owns Word Entertainment. I’m not going to mention that Curb helped to defeat a ballot initiative in 1978 that would have kept sodomites and lesbians from working in public schools.
