Dr. Dino Brushes Concerns After Pal Gets Charged with Child Sex Abuse: ‘He Gets Accused of Things All the Time’

Kent Hovind, also known as Dr. Dino, has a creation ministry of sorts that is run through his Alabama-based Dinosaur Adventure Land (DAL) , a somewhat decrepit touristy destination where people can camp and explore the trails on ATVs and visit his creation exhibits. Routinely expressing and advocating for sovereign citizen conspiracies, the professing Christian reprobate famously spent almost a decade in prison after being convicted of nearly 50 federal counts of tax fraud, at the time claiming that he didn’t owe anyone taxes (especially not Caesar) because everything he owned belonged to God.

Hovind has also been embroiled in scandals for years, much of it stemming from his choice to ‘marry’ 4 ‘wives’ in 5 years. If that weren’t scandalous enough, his ex-girlfriend/ third common-law wife took an order of protection against the disgraced creationist, claiming that he physically abused her by ‘body-slamming her’ and has engaged in a pattern of psychological torture, resulting in him being sentenced to 30 days in jail for domestic violence.

Last month, his good friend Christopher Link Jones, who sometimes worked at the park and was a frequent fixture, was arrested and charged with criminal sexual conduct with a minor under 14.

This is not the first time Jones has faced these accusations, being previously convicted of battery and lewd acts on children in California a decade earlier.  According to a report by the Daily Beast:

Former DAL residents previously told The Daily Beast they distanced themselves from Hovind after he allegedly arranged for Jones to share a bed with an 11-year-old boy whom Jones had brought to DAL in 2019. The boy, whom The Daily Beast is not naming, later told his mother that Jones had touched his genitals through a paper towel. Recordings from a 2021 meeting of DAL staff and residents, previously reported by The Daily Beast, show Hovind dismissing concerns about the incident.

“That’s Chris’s decision and the kid’s decision,” Hovind said during the 2021 meeting, when DAL residents raised concerns about Jones wrestling with the child, or sharing a bed with him. “How people here react to that is their decision. He’s got a right to wrestle with a kid if he wants and you’ve got a right to say ‘I’m not getting around Chris.’”

Reached for comment, the boy’s mother told The Daily Beast that Jones’ arrest in South Carolina last month was related to her son. The arrest warrant does not appear to relate directly to DAL (which is located in Alabama), but to an incident approximately two years before the DAL visit, when the boy was nine. The boy’s mother previously stated that Jones was her boss, and that he had sometimes looked after her son prior to the DAL trip.

Despite this new arrest and sexual abuse charges, Kent Hovind reiterated his support for Jones and said he was still welcome at his park.

“I’ve known Chris for many years. He gets accused of things all the time, but everybody gets their day in court. I don’t know the details on that [the charges]….I would doubt he’s guilty.”

When Pressed about Jone’s past convictions, which includes making three boys (14, 11 ,9) play strip poker with him until they all had their clothes off, Hovid was dismissive:

“Well even that doesn’t mean you’re guilty. How many people, later, convictions get overturned? Thousands of them. Sometimes 20 years, 50 years later.”

  1. Reading the long list of Jone’s sexual incidents with young boys, how can Hovind possibly defend him? The guy is unquestionably a pedophile sicko.
Run, saints, from both of these characters.

  2. Kent’s problem is that he’s convinced himself that he can alter reality by his sheer power of reason. If he can twist reality in his head in support of an idea he likes, it doesn’t matter to him how ludicrous, unethical or illogical it seems to everyone else. His own puny little mind is all that matters. His only gift seems to be an incredible ability to make poor judgements. What’s scarier is that some people out there still actually follow him.
