Pastor Warns Congregation That If They Withold Tithes, They Are ‘Perpetuating the Tyre Nichols Situations of Our Society’

James Gailliard is a Democrat Politician and the Senior Pastor of Word Tabernacle Church in Rocky Mount, North Carolina, a multi-campus megachurch once named in the top 100 fastest-growing churches in America. They had a conference recently, and Dr. Eric Mason of Woke Church was one of the speakers.

In a recent sermon, following the beating killing of Tyre Nichols by five police officers, Gailliard manipulates his congregation. First, he teaches the heresy that the gospel is justification by faith and social justice. Then he claims if the congregants don’t tithe, they are ‘perpetuating the Tyre Nichols situations of our society.’

I did not personally watch the videos, because I needed to be able to preach to y’all without being an angry black man. And so I personally was not able to look at them. What I will tell you is that the answer has always been, and always will be, God using the African American church as an agent of moral and cultural change in our community. It has always been that, it will always be that.

And so and when I say the African American church, I’m not talking about a church of only black people. I’m talking about a church that understands that the gospel is justification by faith and social justice. And so whether those are black, brown or white people that embrace that, when we embrace that, and we give and recognize that we don’t live by bread alone, but by our giving, we provide a voice. We provide funding to the voice of change.

And so when we don’t give, particularly to African American churches, or churches that believe that the gospel is justification by faith and social justice, when I do not give to those environments, I am perpetuating the Tyre Nichols situations of our society.

So don’t be angry about it if you’re not gonna fund the voice of change. And that’s what giving is about. That is what is about. And so by your generosity, Kyle talked about scholarshipping people. By your generosity I’m able to stand on your behalf and speak truth to power because the people I got to speak to don’t keep our lights on, y’all do., and y’all provide us with that volume and that ability.

And so as we give today, I want you to be mindful of that. I want to thank you in advance for your generosity. And I want us to keep giving and giving generously.

  1. Yep, there you go, keep the racism going with that self righteous implication that black churches are the last bastion of learning for Black Americans. Do you blacks have any self-governance, or do you lash out at anyone or anything which does not follow your dictates to the letter, or give to you the succor you believe you deserve? Reparations anyone ?

  2. I almost wish I was a member of the Word Tabernacle Church in Rocky Mount, North Carolina. Why so, you may ask. I’m glad you did ask. Then I would write the following: “In light of the church informing me that if I don’t tithe to them, I am the equivalent of a murderous roque cop, the church may consider the letter that they now hold in their greedy hands to be my letter of resignation from the Word Tabernacle Church in Rocky Mount, North Carolina. Obviously, I made a mistake in joining your congregation, but that error has now been corrected . . . and this letter is the last thing you will ever receive from me.”

  3. That shows the god “he” worships and it isn’t the almighty! Preachers, just like cops, are essentially and specifically “human beings” with all of the faults, failings and shortcomings that human beings enjoy! They are out for themselves folks. Tithes are paychecks for the preacher! They’re HUMANS just like you . No better for certain and in a lot of cases ‘much worse’. Find a “Man of GOD” and listen to him. You’ll be much closer to GOD for it!

  4. Simply disgusting. The dumbing down of America, especially the church, is far more advanced than I imagined.

    1. This sort of thing has been going on forever… the list of charlatans acting as ministers of God’s is endless… this is nothing new. We just hear about them more often now because of the non-stop ways that information is pushed at us now…

  5. A shining gem of a Bible blockhead and the people who believe ANYTHING the comes from a pulpit.

2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Let’s settle this once and for ALL. That “book” is written to 3 types of people. 1) The Jews 2) The Lost 3)The Christians.

The apostle Paul gives the Church the instructions for giving in 1 Corinth. 16:1-3. 2 Corinth. Chapters 8 and 9. That’s it. Read it. Love it. Believe it.
As a Christian you are instructed your giving is a gift. 2 Corinth. 8:4. It is according to what a man has, not what he has not. Verse 12. It is out of your abundance. Verse 14. 2 Corinth. 9:7 Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. Put that credit card away.

Nobody is tithing in the Church. Tithing was ALWAYS farm animals, oil, grain, fruit and new wine. Tithing was NEVER currency, (money). It was for the Nation of Israel to support the Levitical priesthood and their families for the Tabernacle in the wilderness and Temple service.

Read Acts 15 and you will find the letter from the Apostles to the Gentiles that were coming to saving faith. In that letter, tithing and Sabbath observing were not required becoming Christians and not keeping the Law of Moses. Take notice of verses 10-15.

Acts 15:7-11 And when there had been much disputing, Peter rose up, and said unto them, Men and brethren, ye know how that a good while ago God made choice among us, that the Gentiles by my mouth should hear the word of the gospel, and believe. And God, which knoweth the hearts, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Ghost, even as he did unto us; And put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith. Now therefore why tempt ye God, to put a yoke upon the neck of the disciples, which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear? But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved, even as they.

If your church teaches tithing, they are Judaizers putting you under the Law. Taking something given to the Nation of Israel and forcing it on the Church is called stealing. That’s found in both Testaments. Exodus 20, Romans 13:9.

Your teachers are either woefully ignorant not believing the Scriptures, or they are intentionally dishonest and disingenuous men. For example, John Hagee, Kenneth Copeland, Benny Hinn, Rodney Howard Brown and that Jezebel Paula White etc. etc.

If you’re Church can’t “run” the Church on the free will offerings of that local congregation, tell them to go get a secular job like the Apostle Paul did who was a tent maker that WORKED for what he needed.

Acts 18:1-3 After these things Paul departed from Athens, and came to Corinth; And found a certain Jew named Aquila, born in Pontus, lately come from Italy, with his wife Priscilla; (because that Claudius had commanded all Jews to depart from Rome:) and came unto them. And because he was of the same craft, he abode with them, and wrought: for by their occupation they were tentmakers.

Acts 20:33-35 I have coveted no man’s silver, or gold, or apparel. Yea, ye yourselves know, that these hands have ministered unto my necessities, and to them that were with me. I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.

1 Corinthians 4:10-12 We are fools for Christ’s sake, but ye are wise in Christ; we are weak, but ye are strong; ye are honourable, but we are despised. Even unto this present hour we both hunger, and thirst, and are naked, and are buffeted, and have no certain dwellingplace; And labour, working with our own hands: being reviled, we bless; being persecuted, we suffer it:

2 Corinthians 11:9 And when I was present with you, and wanted, I was chargeable to no man: for that which was lacking to me the brethren which came from Macedonia supplied: and in all things I have kept myself from being burdensome unto you, and so will I keep myself.

1 Thessalonians 4:11-12 And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you; That ye may walk honestly toward them that are without, and that ye may have lack of nothing.

2 Thessalonians 3:7-15 For yourselves know how ye ought to follow us: for we behaved not ourselves disorderly among you; Neither did we eat any man’s bread for nought; but wrought with labour and travail night and day, that we might not be chargeable to any of you: Not because we have not power, but to make ourselves an ensample unto you to follow us. For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat. For we hear that there are some which walk among you disorderly, working not at all, but are busybodies. Now them that are such we command and exhort by our Lord Jesus Christ, that with quietness they work, and eat their own bread. But ye, brethren, be not weary in well doing. And if any man obey not our word by this epistle, note that man, and have no company with him, that he may be ashamed. Yet count him not as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother.

If your church doesn’t repent, LEAVE and go fellowship with a Church that won’t require tithing or Sabbath observing (Friday sundown to Saturday sundown) and faithfully teaching the “words” of God, “rightly dividing the word of truth”.

    I pray that helps anyone.
