Mike Todd’s Christmas Service Features Ballet Dancers with Basically Bare Butts (Viewer Discretion!)
Pastor Michael Todd leads Transformation Church (TC.) He is known for crowd surfing during his church’s worship service and spending a lot of money. In the last two years, he’s given away $3,500,000 in houses, cash, and cars, spent $65,000 to buy 168 pairs of shoes, gave $600,000 in “reparations,” and purchased $66,000,000 in real estate.
He’s also known for preaching some good old-fashioned Modalism, giving the world perhaps the grossest illustration in church after he snorted and then hocked a loogie full of spit and snot into his hand and rubbed it in another man’s face and claiming his church had 75k salvations in the last 18 months even though practically none of them stuck around.
As part of their 2022 Christmas program, the service began with a scandalous ballet performance featuring men who might as well not be wearing anything, given the tightness and sheerness of their outfits, and women hardly dressed better, gliding across the stage while repeatedly flashing the crowd.
Sorry, but that is traditional ballet attire and all naughty parts are clad. There is so much to criticize in much of the contemporary church but this was a swing and a miss.
Nonsense. Home run. Although you are correct in suggesting that it was traditional ballet attire, traditional ballet attire is very revealing and completely inappropriate for a church service. Having said this, there should not even be conservatively dressed ballet during a church service since Scripture does not authorise it. As the W.C.F (chapter XXI) says: But the acceptable way of worshipping the true God is instituted by Himself, and so limited by His own revealed will, that He may not be worshipped according to the imaginations and devices of men, or the suggestions of Satan, under any visible representation, or any other way not prescribed in the Holy Scripture.
So I’m guessing David dancing like a drunken fool ahead of the Ark returning to Israel would also be ‘offensive’ to you? They were fully dressed ballet dancers – if that turns someone on, I suggest the issue is the individual, not the dancer.
Romans 14:14-15. God doesn’t tell us that if it’s a stumbling block for a brother then it’s his problem. Go ahead and do what you know is right. He says that even if you know it’s ok, that if it is a stumbling block to a brother than you are no longer walking in love by exercising your rights. The word teaches us to put away our pride and to let it go for the sake of your brother for whom it offends. I’m sorry brother but that’s what the word says.
You are wrong on this one. I’m guessing you have never attended a ballet performance. This is what the men wear. Is it distracting? Yes. Do you focus on something else? Yes like the beautiful dancing of the ladies. This one needed to be researched before writing a story that honestly makes you look silly.
