Mark Driscoll asks for $850,000 in ‘Year End Push’ To Promote Church Influence

After going radio silent for years, Mark Driscoll has gained attention this year in a big way, appearing in several articles outlining a renewed pattern of bullying and abusive behavior, along with a complete repudiation of biblical elders and any sense of accountability, which can be seen at the links below:

Now he is engaging in further old habits, employing a practice of running a deficit for the whole year only to make up for it in a mad cash-grab in December, something he’d done at his previous church, according to Warren Throckmorton.

Driscoll is asking on behalf of the church for $650,000 above and beyond their regular budget to add more cameras, lights and a better sound system, along with setting up a recording studio and office and throwing a major end of the year party. If that $650,000 number rings a bell- it should. That was Driscoll’s severance package after he was booted from Mars Hill by the yes men who finally grew spines- a position he has sworn to never find himself in again.

He’s also asking for another $200,000 for his Real Faith ministry, his personal side hustle, but is very vague on the details of what that entails.

Hopefully, he won’t get ALL of it, as the last thing the world needs is more of Mark Driscoll’s ministry in it.
