Famed Apostate Slammed for $275 ‘Deconstruction Course,’ Cancels Program

Mere days after launching a new online course (Reframe your Story) designed to help questioning Christians deconvert and deconstruct their faith, famed ex-pastor and apostate, and I Kissed Dating Goodbye author Josh Harris has announced that he’s scrapping the whole project and shutting the whole thing down as a result of massive blowback from progressives who say he is the wrong person to be leading this sort of mission.

Harris launched what was to be a 5-week course on how to cast aside the last vestiges of the Christian faith, to the tune of $275 a person. In a new Instagram Post, Harris explains that after listening to many voices telling him he should not be profiting off the same people he contributed to getting where they were, he is shutting things down, noting that only 4 people ended up paying for the full program anyway and that those who ponied up would be receiving a refund.

There is also an issue where Harris made available several people’s work and resources without getting their permission, which has at least one creator fuming about it. Given that exvangelicals are a vicious little bunch, it’s unsurprising that they would so swiftly eat their own and engage in some grade-a gatekeeping.

Let not your heart be troubled about his future, however, as Harris assures his audience that he will continue to listen learn and grow.  Given the work that was put into his first side hustle, we imagine it’ll be repackaged in a less offensive form within the year.

  1. It would be much wiser to focus on constructing treasures in Heaven, and to worry about whether or not you or anyone you influence will be eternally marginalized in Hell. It doesn’t get any more “marginalized” than “depart from me, I never knew you.”

But then again, “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding” – Prov. 9:10. And these progressives have neither wisdom nor understanding. They reject the fear God, and have no wisdom. They hate that which is holy, and have no understanding.

  2. ahhhh these people that always want fame and money. Funny thing is there are many Josh Harrises still in the evangelical circle.
