Done Deal! Church of England Votes to Bless and Affirm Same-Sex Civil Marriages

The Church of England’s General Synod voted this week on a historic proposal to allow clergy to offer prayers of thanksgiving for same sex-couples and bless same-sex civil marriages in the church, backed by the support of Justin Welby, the Archbishop of Canterbury, in a shameless repudiation of the scriptures and the God of the Bible.

The scheme to bless and affirm homosexual relationships is the result of six years of “study” and “evaluation” by the Church under the Living in Love and Faith (LLF) project, which is the vehicle used by pink-haired and dapper progressives alike to create a new framework for acceptable sexual morality within the church. According to reports:

The final motion was passed across the synod’s three ‘houses’. The House of Bishops voted 36 in favour, four against with two abstentions. The House of Clergy voted 111 in favour, 85 against and 3 abstentions. The House of Laity voted 103 in favour, 92 against, and 5 abstentions.

The bishops will now finalise the wording of the new prayers and also issue new guidance on whether gay clergy must remain celibate before the synod meets again in July.

In short, apostates gonna apostate. For decades the deplorable Anglican denomination has been drifting on issues of theology and human sexuality, proving time and time again the 26 million members are not the least bit committed to upholding the biblical teachings, but instead adopting the worst excesses of the woke movement in a pathetic and desperate attempt at relevancy.

This is just more of the same.

Bishop Of Canterbury Tearfully Urges Church To Bless Same-Sex Unions In Historic Vote

The Church of England’s General Synod is voting this week on a historic proposal that would allow clergy to offer prayers of thanksgiving for same sex-couples and bless same-sex civil marriages in the church, and Justin Welby, the Archbishop of Canterbury, is all for it.

The scheme by the Anglicans is the result of six years of “study” and “evaluation” by the Church under the Living in Love and Faith (LLF) project, which is the vehicle used by pink-haired and dapper progressives alike to create a new framework for acceptable sexual morality within the church. Under this framework, they would distinguish between same-sex marriages and “holy matrimony” where they could bless, appreciate, and offer prayers of thanksgiving to the former, without officially endorsing it.

The proposal, which was still being debated as of Wednesday night, was championed by Welby, who intervened and interceded for it, at times on the brink of tears. He described the issue as “the most painful thing I’ve ever known” while at the same time denying that this was leading them down a slippery slope:

Each of us will answer to God at the judgment for our decisions today. I am supporting these resources not because I am controlled by culture, but because of scripture, tradition, and reason evidenced in the vast work done over the last six years so ably by so many. I may be wrong, of course, but I cannot duck the issue any more than anyone else here…

“I ask each member of Synod to vote with their spirit-inspired consciences, scripturally and spiritually-guided and not because groups or lobbies or outsiders have told you to”

And later:

I know there is fear of a slippery slope, of what may or may not happen at some point in the future. But let us not give in to the fear of a future which we can neither predict nor control. Fear leads us to do the wrong things – trying to secure the future for God tomorrow, rather than trusting the Holy Spirit today.

According to reports, after Busola Sodeinde, a church commissioner warned that the Anglican church was not on board with this at all, despite the western culture pushing the issue. He suggested that there would be “impending racial injustice, disunity and racial segregation in the church if we were to introduce same-sex blessings” which would spark “exodus of diverse communities from our parish churches.” The Archbishop of Canterbury replied:

“I’m generally torn by this… This isn’t something I take lightly. It’s the most painful thing I’ve ever known…. This isn’t just about listening to the rest of the world. It’s caring. Let’s just be clear on that. It’s about people who’ll die; women who’ll be raped; children who’ll be tortured. So, when we vote, we need to think of that. We must also do right here as part of the church Catholic.

Even before the proposal is ratified, forces within the church are already plotting to do away with this and introduce an even more radical proposal to fully bless and affirm same-sex marriages. The only reason this vote is going forward in its current form is that the radical leftists don’t have the 2/3 votes to be fully affirming.

Yet.

Once you give an inch, the quest for the mile begins, and it is an absolute certainty that this will soon fall.

Welby is a stupid, foolish, puppet of a man for imagining otherwise.

Amy Grant Defends Hosting Same Sex Marriage “I Love Those Brides”

Contemporary Christian Music icon Amy Grant is the poster child for the worst excesses of the shallow, vapid, mindlessly stupid and self-centered approximation of the Christian faith that has enthralled much of Christendom to day. Her hatred for God is exemplified in an interview with People Magazine and The Washington Post regarding her hosting her niece’s same-sex wedding.

Rather than conform her thinking to the word of God, Grant reveals she never bothered reading any feedback or criticism of her actions. Instead, she disregards anything the scripture say about the matter, giving priority to the dark desires of her heart.

“I never chase any of those rabbits down the rabbit hole. I love my family, I love those brides. They’re wonderful, our family is better, and you should be able to be who you are with your family, and be loved by them.”

She previously told the WP how she justified in her mind the same-sex wedding, offering that she was just loving them like Jesus would.

“Honestly, from a faith perspective, I do always say, ‘Jesus, you just narrowed it down to two things: love God and love each other,’ I mean, hey — that’s pretty simple.”

Grant, an artist who has sold over 30 million albums, won 6 Grammys and 26 GMA Dove awards, has been gay affirming for a long time. Though her position was always couched in just enough plausible deniability, she came out clearly last year and hasn’t looked back since.

Over the last three years, multiple bands and personalities have come out as pro-LBGTQ, including Relient K, Jars of ClaySwitchfootFive Iron Frenzy, and Kevin Max.

She’s just another one on a long list that’s getting longer.
