President Trump Will Nominate Judge Amy Coney Barrett to Replace Ginsburg

(Lifesite News) President Donald Trump is expected to nominate federal appeals court Judge Amy Coney Barrett to replace pro-abortion Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, who recently passed away, according to multiple media reporting citing a senior White House official.

The expected nomination of Barrett would set up a massive battle over her confirmation as she has already been aggressively attacked by Democrats, abortion activists and the mainstream media, especially over her Catholic faith.

Barrett, a law professor at the University of Notre Dame and judge on the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals, believes life begins at conception and has noted how both pro-life and pro-abortion legal experts have criticized Roe v. Wade as a bad decision. Barrett criticized the ruling for “ignit[ing] a national controversy” through judicial fiat.

Though her judicial rulings on abortion are few, she did rule in support of two Indiana pro-life laws during her time on the Seventh Circuit. She also has made several statements about the value of babies in the womb. According to the Law and Crime blog, Barrett signed a public letter in 2015 that emphasized “the value of human life from conception to natural death.”

Judge Amy Barrett was number one on the Supreme Court wish list for most pro-life voters and she was also the first potential high court nominee to get an in-person meeting with President Donald Trump. That’s not a surprising considering the president previous said he was “saving her” for an appointment to the Supreme Court should Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg retire or pass away.

Barrett, a mother of seven, was a former law clerk to Justice Antonin Scalia. Like Scalia, Barrett describes herself as an “originalist” judge.

When it comes to abortion cases, Barrett has been on the pro-life side. She voted in 2016 to allow a hearing on a pro-life law from the state of Indiana that requires abortion centers to offer a proper burial or cremation for babies they kill in abortions. And in 2019, she voted to allow a hearing on another Indiana pro-life law allowing parents to be notified when their teenage daughter is considering an abortion so they can help her make a better decision for her and her baby.

Senator Lindsey Graham, the chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, says Republicans have the votes to confirm President Donald trump’s Supreme Court nominee before the November presidential election.

“We’ve got the votes to confirm Justice Ginsburg’s replacement before the election,” he said on Fox News late Monday. “We’re going to move forward in the committee.”

Democrats, as well as..

An Open Letter Regarding ‘Servus Christi,’ Jacob Prasch, and Their Followers

I’m writing this letter as the founder of this website, Protestia, and publisher of the ministry known as Pulpit & Pen. This open letter addresses Chavez, also known as Servus Christi, Jacob Prasch, and their respective followers.

On August 20 of 2020, I posted an article with a countdown clock to the terminus, or end, of the “ministry” of “Servus Christi.” I warned at the time that…

“…the work of the Lord is always counterfeited by the devil. Although there is biblical evangelism, there are fake evangelists. Although there is biblical teaching, there are false teachers. Although there are biblical mercy ministries, there are scam artists. And although there are biblical discernment ministries, there is Servus Christi.

I have watched Chavez for years attack the most discerning men in evangelicalism. I have watched him, using words out of context, audio clips out of order, and videos hatcheted and hacked out of sorts, go after the friends of Jesus as though they were enemies. I have spoken to the man directly on the phone, on several occasions, for hours at a time, and tried to both hear his perspective and also correct his course. I have written about him, warned about him, and cautioned the discernment community away from him as a Sectarian Minimalist heretic.

My concerns about the man have been centrally focused on one devilish trait; the man who calls himself a Servant of Christ is opposed to the very Body of our Savior, remains outside the Church of the Living God, and attacks it rather than edifies it.

I recognize their tactics well. As their argument goes (Chavez and those who follow him), I am a lover or worshipper of man and can countenance no criticism of “celebrities” like Todd Friel, John MacArthur, Phil Johnson, Paul Washer, Justin Peters, Chris Rosebrough, or others who are the constant target of his schismatic attacks. But while this might remain an effective volley of attack to some, my own public testimony of Christian discernment and willingness to criticize even my friends provides a stalwart defense against such claims.

But these claims, which might work on others, prove to be no kryptonite to me. While I admire Dr. John MacArthur greatly, I have criticized his invitation of Social Justice advocates to his Shepherd’s Conference, an act on my part that to this day has Phil Johnson – who officiated my child’s dedication – no longer returning so much as a text. Discernment ministry, of which my publications have become synonymous with polemics itself, has been publicly derided by Todd Friel on numerous occasions (although not by name), especially in light of my stance on Romans 13 (another disagreement). Justin Peters, who like all of these men has preached at my pulpit, will not so much as acknowledge my existence in any public format. I have suffered scars that run so deep from these friends that no other man can truly know, merely for my commitment to fair and impartial polemics and inconvenient disagreement on tertiary matters.

I cry no river over the severance of friendships I myself caused. I knew the cost. I mourn their loss, but I have not yet donned sackcloth or ashes, trusting in a God who restores all things and makes them new (Revelation 21:5) and who is the one who both gives and takes away (Job 1:21). But suffice it to say, any accusation that I am a worshipper of men should be rejected as a gross lie. My relational scars bear witness to it. I, along with my various publications, plod along in the work of discernment even while yet in an institutionalized time-out, suffering as the name that shall not be named, faithful to the truth and trusting in God to make the dust settle where he decrees every speck to land.

And because I love the spiritual gift of discernment (1 Corinthians 12:8-10), and because we are told to train the powers of that gift with constant practice (Hebrews 5:14), and because every gift of God is good (James 1:17), I have kept a wary eye on those imitators of the devil who sneak into the church privily to spy it out (Galatians 2:4) to carry it away captive (Colossians 2:8), and who look like Christians but inwardly are ravenous wolves (Matthew 7:15).

However, in more than a decade of discernment work, I grow weary. No discernment minister I know, except for Pastor Rosebrough or perhaps Justin Peters, has plodded along for such a long time without being burned out by the daily sinful scum that happens to muck up the boots of polemics plodders. Time and again I have cast my eyes upon other ambitions (just as I am now in a season largely occupied with other matters) only to be brought back again to dispatch some wolf or rogue devil’s agent who needs to be marked (Romans 16:17) and handed over publicly to the devil and back to their master (1 Corinthians 5:5).

In all of this time, our work at Pulpit & Pen has dispatched some notorious skalawags. There are the Ergun Caners, Clayton Jennings, the Greg Lockes, the Jerry Falwell Jrs, the Todd Bentleys, and many more who have had to be polemicized, ostracized, and whose ministries needed to be summarily dismantled. God have mercy on the wrestling (Jude 1:3) and holy quarreling (2 Corinthians 10:5) that it has taken to do this work and on more than one occasion I have prayed that the Lord be more merciful to me as a pastor than he was to David as a king, who he did not permit to build his temple for being a man of war rather than peace (1 Chronicles 17:2-4).

But with God as my witness, I have rarely seen any man who needed to be divorced from ministry as much as Servus Christi, whose very name is a violation of the 9th Commandment and who might better be called Servetus Diablos.

As I revealed in the post, Servus Christi Imports Bride, Fakes Marriage, Sends Her Back After Consummation – as the title would suggest – Chavez demonically and methodically acted predatorily upon a young female Christ-professor in a way that is stomach-churningly evil.

That post reveals – using his wife’s (I do not use scare quotes around the word wife for her sake, respecting her convictions) words – that he intended to use this young woman for a combination of carnal purposes and her financial support of his ministry. But determining her to be unsatisfactory he then sent her home after contriving a marriage ceremony officiated by his step-father and witnessed by his mother. He did not receive a marriage certificate, as he had promised, and sent her back to her continent and is – to this day – refusing to speak to her.

Several Scriptures about false teachers come to my mind regarding Chavez. Titus 1:11 says, “Whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucre’s sake.” 2 Timothy 3:6 says of them, “They are the kind who worm their way into households and captivate vulnerable women weighed down with sins and led astray by various passions.” They are the ones to teach for the sake of greed (2 Peter 2:3). They are the ones whose consciences are seared (1 Timothy 4:2).

In the days since we first reported this incident, using his wife’s words publicized in various public formats, she has since reached out to us one-on-one. We have put her in touch with a Titus 2 type older woman (we promised not to have any knowledge of their private counseling, which would remain confidential) who could provide counsel from the Bible. We have offered her all of our resources for her to receive counseling near her home. We have tried our best to offer Biblical advice to a woman who just wants to know why Chavez will not even return her messages, answer the phone, respond to her pleas, and most importantly, refuses to even pray with her.

I’ve been a pastor for 22 years, a husband of 20 years, and a father for 17 years. And I have the privilege of being the father of three young ladies. And with God as my witness, if they were ever treated the way this woman was treated it would take the Lord’s long and capable arm for me not to take Deuteronomy 32:42 into my own hands, “I will make my arrows drunk with blood, and my sword shall devour flesh— with the blood of the slain and the captives, from the long-haired heads of the enemy.’

Dear fans of Servus Christi, please understand that what Joshua Chavez has done cannot be defended. In fact, he has not even tried to defend it himself, as you have surely noticed in the month since our expose’ was published. There is no excuse. He ‘married’ a woman in a sham ceremony, under pretenses that would make her his provider, consummated the marriage, and sent her home to Africa and summarily ‘ghosted’ her existence.

On top of this, Jacob Prasch was well aware of what transpired. He spoke to the couple on WhatsApp on the day of the ceremony, giving his blessing. And after the marriage’s very short demise, he and his ministry refused to offer the young woman any help or assistance. And like Chavez, he ghosted the young woman as though she was not worthy of a phone call, an email, a text message, or the slightest signal that she was a living, breathing human being made in God’s image.

Both of these ministries – that of Servus Christi and that of his one-time employer, Jacob Prasch – masquerade themselves as discernment ministries, criticizing those evangelical leaders with whom they disagree. And both of them, in their actions on this matter, have proven themselves unworthy to even speak the name of Jesus, let along claim to speak for Jesus. The Jesus Christ of Nazareth, the one who is now at God’s right hand, would sooner tie a millstone around their necks and cast them into watery depths than bestow upon them the mantle of minister.

In the days following our expose’ over a month ago, Chavez promised his fans in various formats and threads that a response was coming shortly. But that response has not come. It turns out, it’s apparently far harder to orchestrate lies than to confess the truth. For a man as prolific at making videos as Joshua Chavez, his silence speaks volumes of his guilt.

Within days of my reporting on his wife’s words, I received a letter from an attorney claiming to represent Chavez, who is not licensed to practice law in either his state or mine, demanding my article come down. I sent it to my attorney and, let it be stated, Chavez can pound sand in Jesus’ name. I informed them very clearly, a retraction would not happen, and received a few more threats that they would take me to court within days. I’ve received no further communication from them and I presume that will work as well for Chavez as it did Ergun Caner against Jason Smathers, James MacDonald against Julie Roys, or the various times I got a ‘cease-and-desist’ nastygrams from Clayton Jennings, Jonathan Cahn, or most recently, someone associated with the Jerry Falwell Jr. scandal. In other words, it will not work.

We are Pulpit & Pen. We are Protestia. We are the ones who know no other kind of warfare than scorched earth. We are the ones who have already sacrificed our lives, fortunes, and reputations on the altar of truth-telling. Intimidation does…not…work…on us. It never has. It never will, so long as God remains afixed to his throne.

Truth is the ultimate defense against an accusation of libel, and the power of discovery and subpoena in the hands of Pulpit & Pen in a court of law is a right that the enemies of righteousness would give us to their great peril. For ten years we have only published that which we believe to be true, which we have verified through primary sources, and that which fulfills our publication’s religious purpose, “Whatever is said in the dark will be heard in the light, and what you have whispered behind closed doors will be shouted from the housetops for all to hear (Luke 12:3).”

But the facts of what we have been told by Chavez’ wife, and what has been substantiated through various forms of written and photographic testimony, are secondary to my purpose in this open letter to you, the followers of Chavez and Prasch.

In the many years of our discernment ministry, we have (obviously) earned many critics who disagree with this or that of what we have spoken or exposed, or more precisely, the way we have spoken or exposed it. Of that, I make no excuses and offer no explanations. I know the row we have chosen, and we have hoed it. I know the bed we have made and will sleep in it. We have lived by the sword of truth and are prepared to die by it.

Rather than taking issue with the way a discernment ministry does discernment, I implore you to take note discerningly of the trajectory and purpose of their ministry. One question should be asked more than any other…are they for the local church or are they against it?

One question should be asked more than any other…are they for the local church or are they against it?

No bi-weekly episode of the Polemics Report is aired without an exhortation to the listener to be a contributing, serving, loving, supporting member of their local congregation. No post or article has ever been written at Pulpit & Pen, Polemics Report, Protestia, or any of our publications that encourages Christians to leave their local church without finding a new one immediately and post-haste. And no one is encouraged to leave their congregation without following the rules of our Savior in Matthew 18. And repeatedly, incessantly, religiously, do we exhort the listener and reader to use discernment for the edification and building up of the local church (1 Corinthians 12:4-19), rather than for its destruction.

The ministries of Joshua Chavez and Jacob Prasch do precisely the opposite. Their entire goal, stated explicitly, is to convince you there are no good pastors, no good churches, and no good ministries (except for theirs). Their entire schtick, their goal, their enterprise, their industry is to demolish hopes of their followers in the institution that Christ established on this Earth to do his work.

Please listen to me, a man who is characterized widely as divisive and as a schismatic (I would argue unfairly)…there are good men of God near you. They are imperfect and flawed, but they belong to the Lord and have been chosen by the Holy Spirit to serve the church as overseers and elders (Acts 20:28). I will be the first to tell you that good churches are few and far between, but that does not mean they are non-existent. The God of Heaven always had his diplomatic outposts on Earth in the local church. They are filled with messed up, occasionally wrong-headed, and inherently flawed people with a doctrine that has not yet been perfected by the glorification in Christ that awaits us. But please listen to me…Jesus loves his church.

If the discernment minister you listen to makes you hate your church, rather than love it, he is not of God. If the discernment minister makes you an enemy of the church rather than a friend (even if you must be a critic), he is not of God. If the discernment minister you listen to makes you abandon the body of Christ, he is taking you away from the Head, who is Jesus Christ himself.

Please pray for Chavez’s abandoned wife. Please pray that Chavez and Prasch have their ministries implode so that in the end, their souls might be saved. Please pray for those discernment ministers who do it for the church, not against the church.

Give them no countenance. Give them no ear. And may the silence that they have given us over the last month continue until Christ Jesus returns, lest they harm rather than help the sheep of God’s pasture.

American Sign Language Bible Finally Complete After 39 years

(DISRN) A translation of the Bible in American Sign Language has just been completed after 39 years of work.

Work on the translation into ASL began in 1981 with Independent Christian Church minister Duane King.

In 1970, after meeting a deaf Christian couple who avoided going to church because they did not understand what was going on, King decided he wanted to learn how to sign so that he could help the deaf community.

After King and his wife, Peggy, planted a church and a mission for the deaf in Iowa, King started working on an ASL Bible.

“Most hearing people don’t understand how difficult it is to learn to read what you cannot hear,” King said last year. “Deaf people rely so much on their eyesight that they want everything to be tangible — they want to be able to see everything.”

Harold Noe, who worked with Deaf Missions and was a Hebrew and Greek scholar, said in a 2004 interview that the translation is sometimes difficult due to ASL having a different syntax than English.

“The same sign used for `resurrection’ is the sign for `stand up,'” explained Noe. “I recall working with some children at the Iowa School for the Deaf. When I signed that sign for resurrection, the kids would stand up. I kept saying, `No, it’s not time to go yet.'”

To watch the ASL videos or for more information on Deaf Missions, visit the organization’s website at deafmissions.com. The organization…

Bisexual Megachurch ‘Pastor’ Turned Stripper has ‘Never Been Happier’

A Minnesota pastor (henceforward “pastrix” as there is no such thing as a female pastor) who left the pastorate to become a stripper and camgirl has “never been happier,” according to reports.

Nikole Mitchell, 36, started attending Woodlands Baptist Church in St. Paul, MN in 2011, and pursued the pulpit “because of my love for performing.” She recounts how she grew up in a conservative Christian environment where only men could be elders, and so being part of a church that allowed women to be pastors “blew my mind.” She developed an interest in theology and would be the first one in line after the service to ask the pastors questions. This eventually led to an offer to help lead the congregation. The New York Post reports this interaction.

“One of my pastors said ‘Nikole, did you realize that you’re a theologian?’ And they said, ‘We’d like you to be one of our pastors,’ ” she recalled. “To be on stage in front of thousands of people — that’s what I had been dreaming of for years.”

Eager to rise up the ranks, Mitchell — who was also raising three kids now aged, 10, 7 and 4 — snagged a spot as a weekly pastor in 2016.

During her time as pastor, she “read many articles and books, listened to interviews, watched videos,” and even participated in a course on “Queer Theology.” As a result, Mitchell “came to believe that Scripture did not condemn homosexuality” and she became as “passionate advocate” for them.

She discovered/realized that she was queer later that year while chasing and pulling those mental threads, and then went all in. She emerged from the depths of rebellion having given herself fully over to progressive Christianity and eventually atheism, casting off her pastrix mantle and leaving the church in 2017.

Having gone to church my whole life and eventually landing on a preaching team, all I ever knew and did was revolved around the church. But recently, as I started to deconstruct white straight male power and privilege and the patriarchy, I learned how much of my Christianity was the byproduct of white straight male thinking and ideology. As a biracial queer woman, their theology had no room for me.

Since then she has come a long way. She started following her life coach’s wife on Instagram who happened to be a lingerie model and pursued that industry, delving deeper down the rabbit hole.

She now operates an OnlyFans account where she posts X-rated content in exchange for money. Recently she was offered thousands of dollars for a sexual encounter by a paid viewer and was planning on accepting and engaging in some prostitution, but COVID hit and her plans were shuttered. Temporarily.

Mitchell says she doesn’t miss being a megachurch pastor, noting: “My sexuality is incredibly healing and sacred…and when I give this gift to people, it blesses them.”

#BigEva and WokeFolk are Lying About the Reason Idaho Hymn Worshippers were Arrested

As news breaks nationally and internationally about the arrest of several congregants at Christ Church’ Psalm Sing, an event designed to be a brief time of public worship (three songs and a doxology) that took place at Moscow’s City Hall and attended by nearly 150 Christians singing acapella hymns, the usual mélange of harpies and professional tut-tutters have perked up and come out to play.

Predictably, out of their indignant displeasure for what one has called ‘Muscovite cultists’, one of the biggest falsehoods being passed around is that the congregants were arrested for not showing his ID to the police. Critics have been making the case they purposefully provoked the officers by not giving their ID, that they were arrested for not giving their ID, and that if only they would have shown their precious identification and complied with all Law Enforcement Officer directives they would have not been arrested.

The narrative is this: ‘You are not being persecuted and your rights are not under attack. You are being arrested for not showing your ID, and not some perceived slight or ‘violation of your constitutional rights.’

While it is true that at least some of the arrested attendees did not give their identification, reasoning that they were not committing a crime by singing worship publicly and therefore the police had to right to ask them that, that’s not the reason they were arrested. They were specifically arrested for violating “PUBLIC HEALTH EMERGENCY ORDER No. 20.03”

By way of background, the city passed that ordinance back in July and then announced on Monday that they were extending the mask mandate until at least January 5th, 2021. On Tuesday Gabe Rench, one of the men eventually arrested, emailed the chief asking him to refuse to enforce the order, telling him this was his “Daniel Moment” and pleaded for interposition and for the chief to stand up for them. On Wednesday they had Psalm Sing, with Pastor Doug Wilson telling attendees that if they didn’t plan on social distancing during the event, they may get a ticket or get arrested.

Rench explains what happened with his arrest- comments edited slightly for clarity.

“The cops just walked up to me and my mom first because we were kind of the closest to them- they weren’t signaling anybody else. And they asked my mom ‘are you guys together?’ and my mom’s like ‘we’re family’ and she grabs my arm. And then I grabbed my buddy Tyler’s arm…and I said to the cops ‘but we’re not.’

After that, the cop came to talk to me and said ‘give me a license, I’m going to write you a ticket.’ So I said to the cop ‘you don’t need to do this, you don’t need to write me a ticket.’  And the cop repeated himself ‘give me your license.’ And I said ‘look, you’re better than this. It’s your job to actually defend the people… your job is for the citizens, not the mayor.’

And so we kind of went back and forth on this, and then he said ‘this is my last time. I’m gonna arrest you’ and I said, ‘you don’t need to do this’ And then I looked at [Police Chief James Fry] as they’re starting to arrest me, (They’ve had Chief Fry in the studio before and have met in person) and told him this could be his ‘Daniel Moment.’

As Rench was taken into custody, one of the videographers asked what crime he was charged with. Officer Thueson answers:

He’s been charged with a violation of the city’s ordinance 20-03

According to the ordinance:

“Every person in the city of Moscow must wear a face covering that covers their nose and mouth when in any indoor or outdoor public setting where the 6-foot physical distancing is not able to be maintained with non-household members.”

In accordance with Moscow City Code Section 1-11-10, any person who knowingly violates the provisions of this order may be charged with a misdemeanor. The maximum penalties for this offense are up to 6 months in the county jail and a $1,000 fine.

Not only do we have confirmation from the arresting officer, but we also have their police report from the city of Moscow. Notice how there is nothing about the refusal to show an ID or resisting arrest.

Contrary to unpopular wokefolk opinion, this story is as egregious as it sounds, and the violation of social distancing, not the refusal to present ID, is the reason at the worshippers were arrested.

Update 1: from a press release by the city:

“Upon confirmation that the individuals were unwilling to comply with the Order by either social distancing from non-household members or wearing a face covering, five attendees were cited for violating the Order. Of those cited, two individuals were also cited for Resisting and Obstructing, and three individuals were arrested and released from custody the same day. The five individuals that received citations will be prosecuted according to law. “

Carl Lentz: The Point of Christianity is for Pastors to become Unnecessary

Carl Lentz continues to make clear that he doesn’t understand what his role is as the so-called Pastor of Hillsong Church NYC, much to the great shame of all his congregants who keep on attending. We’ve known this for a while, of course. We knew it when he had an openly homosexual couple leading worship years ago.

We knew it a few months ago when he interviewed the infamous Trinity-denying heretic TD Jakes about racism and black lives matter, in lieu of a church service, fawning over him and encouraging his congregation to follow him. In fact, it was a little more than a month when Lentz said in an interview that Christian churches might be one of the biggest propagators of racist ideology in our country.

Now, in a recent interview with Logan Paul, Lentz set the context by sharing some false teachings with the assembled hosts, declaring that “religion” is terrible and that he doesn’t believe in it. He tells them Christianity isn’t about religion, but a relationship – taking a swing at Roman Catholics and spouting off other half-burnt theology you’d expect to come out of the mouth of a newly saved 11-year-old girl who just started reading the Message bible.

Because Lentz frames Christianity as a relationship and a two-way conversation, it prompts one of the hosts to ask: “Are you more of a facilitator than a church would you say?” Lentz replies:

So Catholicism for instance, their priests are really necessary. Right? The point of Christianity is for the leaders to not be as necessary. So my job is to teach you, or to encourage somebody else to know God so well, where I’m out of the picture. If anything, a pastor should be a bridge. But if you have a religious construct based on the people who are facilitating it, that’s a problem, because you always need me.

So if I’m a pastor or a priest that wants to keep drawing people to me, I’m not going to tell you everything. I don’t want you to be so good. I don’t want you to be so free. I don’t want you to be so free that you don’t need me, so and I’m going to give you a little bit of guilt. I’m gonna preach something that’s a little bit manipulative to keep you coming but we believe the opposite is true. If you preach the truth, people are going to want to keep finding that.

It should go without saying that the Bible is exceedingly clear that pastors and elders are a gift from God to the Church, that they are to exist until Christ comes back, and that they have a variety of purposes and roles. The idea the pastors exist to be a bridge for a time being and then disappear in a puff of vapor because the congregants are so knowledgeable and obedient that they don’t need a shepherd anymore is certainly a new take – credit where credit is due.

His novel take is so deliciously awful and tragically misguided, it’s almost enough to make one wonder if he’s ever read the following 5 verses before, which lays out all those very things he denies and brings great clarity to a mind melted by biblical misapprehension.

He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things. And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:

Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: Ephesians 4: 10-15

This is not the last of wild things Lentz has said in this interview. The rest will be posted over the next few days.

Perry Stone Shows Photo of Real Angel/ Jesus Capured on Film. It’s Embarrasing

(The Friendly Atheist) Right-wing pastor Perry Stone — who’s best known for checking his phone while speaking in tongues, claiming to speak four languages at once (also in tongues), and for delivering a sermon to a bunch of puppets — has been on a sabbatical from his church lately after acting “inappropriately” with women in his ministry.

He said last month that there had been a rise in “paranormal activity” due to the increased number of pixels in our phone cameras. That meant “things can appear that normally would not appear.”

But in a video posted yesterday, Stone used a very blurry picture from about four decades ago to show that angels are real. He held up the old picture of a sick child in a hospital bed and said Jesus had appeared behind the IV bag.

The relevant portion occurs around the 2:00 mark:

I believe it was the face of an angel of the Lord. And to be quite honest with you, if you look at the paintings and the images and the ideas of what Christ looked like, it almost looks like Christ Himself. Are you ready? Look at the face that appeared behind the IV bag.

It looks like… a blur. Seeing a face where there isn’t one is so common, there’s a psychological term for it.

Stone also had a message for the skeptics! Just shut up and appreciate this.

… I know there’s always skeptics and people… and I just wish people could just enjoy something like this and say, “Isn’t that interesting?” and “Isn’t that wonderful?” and “Thank God for that!” and I hope that your comments will be that way…

RZIM Reportedly Cutting 10% of Staff and Forcing Employees to sign NDA’s

RZIM is reportedly in the process of cutting 10% of its staff members and forcing all outgoing employees to sign Non-disclosure Agreements (NDA’s) designed to force the silence under the threat of punitive monetary damages and legal threats of any exiting employees.

The move from the company, which has nearly 50 employees and brings in $37,000,000 a year in donations, comes after the passing of ministry figurehead and leader Ravi Zacharias earlier in the year, as well amidst new allegations unearthed by Julie Roys of Ravi’s sexting scandal, (which we covered in 2018 here) and allegations from Ravi’s business partner that he was sexually harassing staff at some spas he owned a decade ago.

RZIM has up to this point denied the allegations but has not elaborated further. When we asked them about the latter allegations, they said in a statement that it was “virtually impossible” to investigate, even though with the accusers and victims being in the same city and willing to talk, it is imminently possible and quite easy- only a phone call or an uber away. Sadly, RZIM has shown a refusal to address any wrongdoing on the part of Zacharias, and as a result, bring reproach to the name of Christ.

Wishing to kneecap the ability of the staff to say any damaging information that may hurt the ministry, or which may reveal the presence of more victims, Protestia has learned that human resource protocols are being revamped to prevent existing and outgoing staff to comment publicly on any inner workings at RZIM or from addressing any information the may know about the brewing scandals. In these cases, ministries will frequently withhold severance due to the employees if they don’t sign or will entice them with large cash payouts if they do sign.

RZIM has infamously utilized NDA’s in the past, most recently when they continue to enforce one against Lori Anne Thompson, the woman at the center of the sexting scandal, who has repeatedly reached out to RZIM publicly and privately to beg them to release her, but to no avail.

While there may be some reason for businesses to have employees sign NDA’s, it is far less common in Christian circles, with NDAs frequently being used as a tool, with Geoff Robson rightly noting that they silence victims, protect perpetrators, and ‘eschew a gospel-shaped response to sin in favor of a secular response to sin‘.

We at are still in the process of investigating RZIM and these allegations, and will update accordingly.

Pope affirms parents of LGBT kids: ‘God loves your children as they are’

Pope Francis continued his trend of making off-the-cuff gay-affirming statements to those pushing him on the issue, this time telling a group of parents who have homosexual kids that “God loves your children as they are.”

The comments were made during a 30-minute private audience Pope Francis had with members of Tenda di Gionata in the papal library of the Apostolic Palace.

‘Tenda di Gionata is translated’ to “Jonathan’s Tent” and is a pro-LGBT advocacy group comprised of Roman Catholic parents who have homosexual children. The group’s name, ‘Jonathan’s Tent’ is based on the twisting of scripture that says that David and Jonathan were lovers.

The parents came to plea and convince the pope to relent on the church’s official positon on homosexuality. One of the parents told Francis that she and others in the group had come to think of themselves as fortunate and blessed because having gay children forced them to change the way they viewed their kids. Mara Grassi, vice president of Jonathan’s Tent, said:

“What we have now is a new gaze that has allowed us to see in them the beauty and love of God…We want to create a bridge with the Church so that the Church too can change its gaze towards our children, no longer excluding them but welcoming them fully.”

Francis replied to this heartfelt plea from the parents:

“The church does not exclude them because she loves them deeply.”

and later:

“The church loves your children as they are because they are children of God.”

Along with the meeting from these parental activists trying to convince Francis to make the church affirming of sodomy, they also gave him a book with stories of people who had come to accept and embrace their gay identity, as well as a rainbow-colored T-shirt with the words ‘In love, there is no fear’ emblazoned on the front of it.

Pope Francis recently made other comments that indicated an acceptance of homosexuality, such as when he allegedly affirmed the sexuality of a gay priest.

Charismatic ‘Prophet’ Jeremiah Johnson Plagiarizes J.D Hall’s Imprecatory Post Against Ruth Bader Ginsberg

The self-styled ‘prophet of God’ Jeremiah Johnson was clearly not getting a word from the Lord when he posted “MY OFFICIAL RESPONSE TO THE DEATH OF R.B.G.” on Facebook over the weekend and plagiarized large chunks of his response from Jordan Hall, Publisher of Protestia and Pulpit & Pen.

The post from Johnson, demonstrating another reason why false prophets are not to be trusted to communicate anything that God is supposedly saying, does say some good things that we agree with before it gets to the troublesome parts. He (or perhaps someone else? Who knows if the rest was plagiarized or not) says:

Parts of the American Church have become so lukewarm that they would have tried to comfort Jezebel on a sickbed that GOD himself threw her on! (Rev 2:22) They would have highlighted her accomplishments over the years and found the good in her. They would have found ways to celebrate Hitler and King Herod- all in the name of false justice and an unbiblical definition of love.

That we can agree with and give a ‘yea and amen’, but we see at the end that Johnson has been up to no good with stealing/plagiarizing portions of a message that J.D. Hall gave almost 12 hours earlier.

We’ve included the originals below to show the shenanigans in play

Hall, commenting on the post which now has nearly 5000 comments and 10,000 shares, says:

The fact that Johnson stole it and tried to pass it off as his own is a sin, and a lie, and is a lying sin to his followers and congregation. It’s not like he just tacked it on in a big chunk in the end and forgot to mention where he got it from. Rather, he weaved portions of it in and out of his own thoughts, removing what segments he doesn’t want to say, and showing a deliberate attempt to deceive.

We’ve reached out to the ministry asking for proper attribution and will update this post accordingly.
