Pastor Under Fire For ‘Michael Tait Selfie’+ Deleting Caption

A Missouriu opastor is taking some het after posting a selfie with former Newsboys frontman Michael Tait and tyhe postying a caption that critics claim is downlplaying the latter’s evil actison.

Late last week, pastor Nathan Mudd of Ottawa Community Church  posted tyhe image of Tait woiththe capotion that read:

Just gave Michael Tait a hug! So glad to see him at a KC MO gathering for pastors. We all stumble in many but in Christ our past is God’s weapon!!!”

The two were attending PastorServe, a conference that provides
‘soulcare’, coaching, consulting, crisis Support, and marriage enrichment to pastors and ministry leaders.

Given that Tait has previously admitted to drug use and “unwanted sexual contact” with young men, and has been accused of drugging multiple men to assault them sexually, some took exception to the framing as a ‘stumble,’ resulting in a subsequent edit.

Just gave Michael Tait a hug! So glad to see him. He is forgiven by the blood of Christ. Our past is God’s weapon!!! At least that’s what Christians always celebrated when I was growing up.

And then finally, edited to say:

Just gave Michael Tait a hug! So glad to see him. He is forgiven by the blood of Christ.

While Tait has made one public statement and apology about his actions, prior to the bulk of them being known, he has not commented on them since, nor has he turned himself into the police and accepted punishment for his crimes.

Randall Crawford, one of his victims who has come forward, was one of the people who condemned the framing as a ‘stumble,’ writing:
