Disgraced (former?) pastor Ted Shuttlesworth Jr. of Miracle Word Church in West Palm Beach, Florida, has seemingly begun dipping his toe back into ministry waters after he was spotted helping lead worship at his father’s West Virginia camp meetings.
Earlier this year, we broke the news that Shuttlesworth Jr, who co-pastored the church with his wife Carolyn, was stepping down from ministry after admitting he’d had “loose and inappropriate conversations” with multiple women and at least one affair.
We were later contacted by several women who revealed that Shuttlesworth Jr. had been sending them inappropriate messages, with some allegations going back 15 years. These were not just typical flirty messages or even sharing nude pictures, as vile as that is, but some were impossibly obscene and depraved, with one woman testifying:
“And then one day he just literally said to me, we’re just having a conversation again, and talking about, ‘I was just thinking about you, ‘whatever. And then he said he had something to show me and asked if I wanted to see it.”
And I was like, ‘sure, let me see,’ because I don’t know what he’s going to show me. And he sent me a picture of his wife performing sexual acts to him.”
Ted would comment on his wife’s sexual performance and lament that she wouldn’t perform certain sexual acts with him, asking Tiffany if she’d be willing to do those things with him. He also brought his wife further into it, engaging in what seems to be a fetish or kink:
“I mean, he almost made it seems like his wife was into it, telling her things like “would you let PC (Pastor Carolyn) watch you perform oral sex on me? Would you honor her in this way? She would love that. She would love to see it. Would you do it to her too?”
But that was in March of this year, and now it’s six months later and he and his wife are attending revival meetings, where Ted Jr. is playing the piano and helping lead people in their praise and worship.
At this rate, he’ll be back in the pulpit in no time.
