Church ‘Overseer’ Faces 21 New Voyeurism Charges After Hidden Cam Found in Baptismal Changing Room

Former Fruitland Park church overseer Bart Lucas is facing 21 additional voyeurism charges a few weeks after his first arrest on similar suspicions.

Last month, Major Crimes investigators with the Lake County Sheriff’s Office were alerted when a co-worker of Bart, 59, found troubling footage depicting adults and adolescent girls on his work computer and notified authorities.

After further investigation, deputies discovered recordings shot on a hidden camera inside a church bathroom where girls would change after their baptisms, with some of the videos going back to the mid-2000s, and some of the girls allegedly being under the age of 16.

Bart has now been charged with 26 counts related to video voyeurism, including six involving girls below the age of 16.

Lucas has pled “not guilty” and awaits his hearing next Tuesday.
