A year after disgraced senior pastor Brady Boyd resigned from his church amid allegations he knew about sexual abuse committed by Robert Morris against 12-year-old Cindy Clemishire, and then flat-out publicly lied to his congregation about it, he has planted and founded a new church.
Boyd previously led New Life Church, a prominent 15,000-member multisite megachurch in Colorado, until he was forced to resign after his church leaders said that, despite knowing Morris was a pedophile, he failed to report it and misled his congregation about his knowledge of the matter.
A month after his exit, Boyd shared in a support group that he and his wife launched Psalm 68 Ministries, based out of Colorado Springs and “operating under the authority of the elders of Trinity Fellowship Church in Amarillo, TX.” Trinity Fellowship Church is home to Jimmy Evans, who also knew about the molestation of Cindy Clemishire, according to court documents filed by Morris.
In a July 15 Facebook post message, Boyd announced that his ministry would be joining up with a small house church to start a new church called The Village Church.
According to their website, the new church will be led by Lindsay and Joseph Rangel, with Brady serving as the “Legacy Pastor.”
When asked what a “Legacy Pastor” is, Brady told a commenter on Facebook: “an older pastor who offers strength.”
Notably, Boy was the second senior pastor from New Life Church to resign in disgrace after his predecessor, former leader Ted Haggard resigned after a male prostitute claimed they’d been having sexual encounters for years and that Haggard used crystal meth- claims that were not unfounded.
