Marilyn Hickey, a prominent televangelist known for her promulgation of the prosperity gospel, ‘positive confession’ and heretical Word-Faith teachings, passed away on Saturday at the age of 94.
Her daughter, who now runs her ministry, shared the news on Facebook.
Born in 1931, Hickey founded Marilyn Hickey Ministries in the mid-1970s and quickly became a global leader and televangelist, a rarity for a woman at the time. Her daily television program, Today with Marilyn, is broadcast in more than 200 countries, reaching tens of millions of viewer

The author of more than 150 books and publications, Hickey is frequently mentioned in the same company as Kenneth Hagin, Benny Hinn, Robert Tilton, Kenneth Copeland, and E. W. Kenyon.
Being a prolific false teacher and known as the “fairy godmother of the Word-Faith movement,” she spent decades mastering the art of deceptive appeals for tithes and offerings.
Say to your body, ‘You’re whole, body! Why, you just function so beautifully and so well. Why, body, you never have any problems. Dubbed “the mistress of mail-order madness” by the Christian Sentinel, Hickey was known not only for her decades of promoting “seed offerings,” but also for marketing a wide array of mail-in products, including blessed ropes, blessed pennies, anointed red elastic bands, miracle carrot seeds, and anointed prayer cloths.
