Days after Christian rocker Magdalene Rose called out several churches that were cancelling her shows over her appearance and image, at least one pastor contacted her to apologize, according to a story shared on her social media.
Rose, who is opening for Seventh Day Slumber, previously wrote how several churches were cancelling their concerts over concerns about her clothing, image, and even musical style, decrying it as too “dark.”

In turn, she called them out (not by name) for their bad theology and the fact that she was reaching people for Christ that they simply were not, and that by cancelling her shows it was potentially robbing young people of the opportunity to know God and know they are loved.
Now, however, she has some news to share:
“Hey guys, it’s Magdalene Rose and I have a really, really cool update. It’s cooler than the news articles, cooler than the numbers, cooler than whatever has been going on throughout this whole process.
If you’ve been keeping up, I made a post about a cancellation we had due to the way I looked. Just also expressed my frustration over the years of getting calls of cancellations because of people saying that I couldn’t be Christian because of my clothes, or the makeup that I wear, or the music that I make.”
Noting that she never gets any type of communication from those churches, she continues:
“Yesterday, I got a message from the youth pastor that canceled the show. his wife sent me a screenshot of the message that he wanted to send, and it was a really heartfelt apology, explaining that he wished he would have done things differently and acknowledging that there are people that are being reached through this music and just hoping that I could forgive him.”
She concluded with how grateful she was for his apology, and that she’s glad she spoke up.
