Apologist Mike Winger Releases 6 Hour Expose on Bethel Church, Shawn Bolz

Prominent Christian Bible teacher and apologist Mike Winger has released a nearly 6-hour video exposing what he describes as a “cover-up culture” in the charismatic church, which has resulted in thousands of victims due to generations of fakery, abuse, lies, and cover-up culture.

Last year, Winger posted a cryptic message on X warning: “Goodbye. I am about to embark on the creation of several videos that will cause many to think that I’m off base, compromised, unspiritual, attacking the church, or otherwise not worthwhile anymore.”

He has since released multiple videos documenting false and dangerous teachers in the church, including exhaustive critiques of figures like Benny Hinn.

In his recent video titled “The skeletons in Bethel’s closet are now going to speak” (which runs 5:50:16 and has nearly 400,000 views as of mid-January 2026), Winger details allegations against prominent charismatic prophet Shawn Bolz. He reveals Bolz has lied about his prophecies by frequently sourcing information from people’s social media pages rather than divine revelation, which has resulted in ruined and broken lives.

The video also covers other alleged fake prophets who have been sexually coercive and abusive, and all the charismatic leaders who have known about it, but said nothing.

These enablers include well known leaders Bill Johnson and Kris Vallotton of Bethel Church, who knew about these issues but did nothing to address or warn others, contributing to a broader pattern of cover-ups in the charismatic movement.

Winger’s video does not contain any new allegations, but rather a detailed and comprehensive summary of what has gone on.

Of course, readers of Protestia will be familiar with these stories. We’ve been criticizing Bolz as a false prophet for years and have been critical of Bolz and Bethel churches for more than a decade, faithfully cataloging their many acts of malfeasance, and we wrote about these specific stories years ago, back in 2024.

Still, given Winger’s prominence and reach, having nearly 1 million subscribers on YouTube, we are greatful for the video, and pray it goes far and wide.

Mike Winger seems like a sincere guy, but he keeps tip-toeing up to the edge and can’t seem to make the final obvious leap; the WHOLE “movement” is bankrupt, fraudulent, and unbiblical.
He mocks Bill Johnson for praising fraudsters Branham, Cain, and Jones in his book, “God’s Generals”, but refuses to draw the obvious conclusion that the very foundation of the “movement” was fraudulent and corrupt from the very beginning.
He repeatedly complains about the lack of discernment in the “movement”, but admits that the very thing that would bring discernment – biblical teaching – is not wanted because it’s the “signs and wonders” that gets the crowds.
He complains that Bill Johnson, Che Ann, Patti Baker and others have huffed that they have no authority over Bolz, without acknowledging and tackling the underlying issue that makes their dodge technically correct – the whole “movement” is completely disconnected not only from Scripture but from the local church, which is God’s only program in this age.
Shawn Bolz’s “ministry” and almost the entire charismatic movement is a conference based, camp meeting, revival meeting movement – the local church isn’t really necessary to the movement of prioritized.
Why would Johnson or Ahn or Baker or any other elite exercise disciplinary authority over him? He’s a free agent, a lone wolf out there on his own, frolicking from this conference to that meeting to that interview to this “outpouring”.
What right do they have to exercise authority when he’s out there doing his own thing, just like they are, just like everyone in the whole “movement” is, in total disregard and disdain for the local church which is Christ’s joy and crown and program in this age.
He complains that the big name elites won’t call out Shawn Bolz, but then lets them off the hook with the effete, beta mail cop-out that if they exposed Bolz it would leave them “vulnerable”.
No, it wouldn’t leave them “vulnerable”, it would collapse the whole “movement”! This is what Winger and others refuse to admit – no one in the charismatic movement can call out Bolz or Bentley or any other of the multitudinous fraudsters in this camp because they would ALL be exposed as the frauds they are – Bill Johnson, Kris Valloton, Joyce Meiers – the whole rotten lot of them.

Until they admit this, they’re just spitting in the wind.

TOTALLY given up on websites that supposedly link to videos on YouTube . . . only to find out that it’s “not available” or one needs to “contact some administrator” . . . or pay some heartfelt offering to Google/YouTube in order to become “one of the chosen” ….

    SKIP THAT!
