‘World’s Wealthiest Televangelist’ Lists Beachside Condo For THIS MANY Millions of Dollars
Bishop Edir Macedo, a billionaire televanglist and businessman, has just listed his beachside Miami condo for a a cool $14.6M, down $350,000 from year a year before.
According to Trinity Fi: “Macedo is currently ranked 1,901 wealthiest person in the world, according to Forbes magazine, with an estimated net worth of $1.8 billion….Macedo is Bishop of the Igreja Universal do Reino de Deus, Universal Church of the Kingdom of God, which operates church campuses in Brazil, Portugal, Mexico, the United States and other nations.
Macedo’s church constructed a modern replica of Solomon’s temple in Brazil and owns four jets and a helicopter.
In addition to being a pastor, Macedo is a businessman, running the Record TV network and owns Banco Renner, a Brazilian bank.”

Allegations of money laundering have dogged Macedo and his church for years. In 2008, Macedo and nine of his associates were charged with money laundering $2 billion. The Associated Press reported, “The church allegedly used fake companies to launder the money, moving the assets abroad and then returning them in the form of loans used by Macedo and his accomplices to buy businesses, prosecutors said.” The Brazilian courts failed to convict Macedo his colleagues.

Unless you separate this man’s business profits from his church income, this article is worthless. It tells us exactly nothing about his supposed-corruption and grifting. For all we know, everything he has could have come from his various businesses and nothing from his ministry. I’m no fan of this type of televangelist, and believe he is probably guilty of everything implied here, and more, but without more specific information, I can’t make any final judgment, and neither can anyone else here.
