Christianity Today Director Accuses Founders President Tom Ascol of Calling Him ‘Gay’
Tom Ascol, the pastor of Grace Baptist Church and President of Founders Ministry, has come under fire for calling Mike Cosper, the Senior Director of Christianity Today Media, “gay.”
Allegedly.
The spat began after Cosper called Ron DeSantis a “coward” over his perspective on the recent explosive Trump Vs. Zelenskyy press conference, prompting Ascol to respond:
When some expressed their dissapointment with Ascol supposedly calling Cosper, “gay” he followed up with some clarification”
And explained further.
Mike sinfully called a brave Christian, civil magistrate a “coward.” I do not call everyone I disagree with effeminate. Mike’s accusation was exactly that. Proverbs 26:5 informed my thinking.

No arguments here. Still, Cosper insisted he was maligned as a homosexual, even though this type of things is something we’ve never seen Ascol ever do, or even hint at.
To that point, Pastor Jarret Scott unearthed a 2019 message from Ascol which clearly shows the way that Ascol considers the word, and marks it as distinct from being exclusively directed at homosexuals.
