Greg Locke Announces New Church Building Away From Site Amid Ongoing Litigation, 90+ Noise Complaints

Tennessee ‘pastor/apostle’ Greg Locke has announced he’s pulling up the stakes of his church tent and relocating to a new building fifteen miles away after battling for years against noise complaints and zoning infractions from his neighbors.

Readers of Protestia will recognize Locke as the controversial Tennessee pastor who divorced his first wife and remarried under controversial circumstances and who is elbows deep in exorcisms and deliverance ministry after several witches supposedly harassed his church. We last wrote about him after he touted his ‘Humbleness’ and ‘Obedience’ by Partnering with Benny Hinn, repented of writing a Book Against Benny Hinn, and Now Considers Him a ‘Friend,’  threatened a Dunkin’ Donuts worker with kicking his teeth down his throat, said that if you deny the existence of tunnels under the White House or Capitol Building that were uncovered by the military and used to house both live and dead children, you’re just as complicit in the abuse as “crack-smoking perverts.”, and recently was declared to be an apostle.

For over a decade, Locke and his congregation have gathered in a large outdoor tent damaged multiple times by inclement weather and “costing a fortune” to heat and power. The lack of space and rapid growth has also led to a barrage of excessive noise complaints from neighbors, over 90 in the last five years, along with zoning and permit problems, resulting in six lawsuits.

Global Vision has grown by more than 2000 people in the last three years, and with the tent lacking infrastructure amenities like parking, air conditioning, classes, and offices for the budding megachurch, as well as the hope that their move would end all litigation, it finally seems to make sense. He previously teased the move back in May:

“It’s time to get rid of port-a-johns and get real indoor plumbing. It’s time to stop fretting every time the wind blows and a storm comes by…it’s time to get some actual heat and some actual air. It’s time to have rooms where GV kids can worship and meet, where GV Espanol can worship and meet.

…to the naysayers, it’ll happen quicker than you think it is. God ain’t got time for no 10-year building program. We’ve got people to reach, we’ve got a Global Vision School of Ministry to launch this fall. We’ve got to have a place to house the habitation of the truth of God.”

Locke shared the updated plans during his August 11 service that his church would be moving fifteen miles East. They are planning on purchasing the building from Love Ways Church, which currently resides there but is looking to expand into a new property.

According to the listing, the property has a $5.8M price tag and is described as “a 27,720 SqFt Church Building in Immaculate Condition on 2.23 Acres in the Center of Lebanon, TN” that offers an array of features, including a “Sanctuary, 10+ Classrooms, 6+ Offices, Youth Sanctuary, 9 Restrooms, Kitchen, Multiple Entrances, Playground, and More, making it an ideal space for an expanding church to move into.”
