‘Babylon Bee, ‘Not the Bee’ Founder Adam Ford Sells Company and Says Goodbye to Both
The Babylon Bee founder and ‘Not the Bee’ co-founder Adam Ford, has announced that he’s sold his last remaining stake in both companies and is taking his leave, revealing that “now it’s time for me to ride off into the midday sun.”
Ford, who gained popularity with his Adam4D comics, founded The Babylon Bee in 2016 and sold it to Seth Dillon nearly three years later, but not without retaining a portion of it. He later co-founded Disrn in late 2019, which he shut down and merged its content with its sister site Not the Bee in 2021.
Not the Bee, a humor-based news, opinion, and entertainment site that has featured our content on a few occasions garbed in the most click-batiest of titles, is basically what you’d get when you combine a baptized front page of Reddit with Buzzfeed. It’s a mood, and it’s great.
Explaining that he has not been “operationally involved with the Bee for some time now,” for shares that this is a good and likely necessary time for him to go.
I always figured I could go on forever working like a maniac and seeing every terrible thing that happens around the world in real-time. But, I finally hit a concrete wall after many years, and there was no way around it. I tried to find one, even as the inevitable consequences of burnout compounded. This is all quite bittersweet and difficult for me….
As far as future plans, he says he’s going to “venture out of my office and back into the world for a bit to see where God leads me.”

The Babylon Bee has said things that no other outlet (satire or otherwise) is willing to say. I hope that with the sale finalized, the BB doesn’t become watered-down “controlled opposition” like so much of the existing conservative media is.
