Judge Rules Pregnant 11-year-old girl MUST Get Abortion, Against Her Wishes
A High Court judge in the UK has ruled that an 11-year-old girl who became pregnant after being raped must have an abortion, contrary to the wishes of the girl and her family.
According to the Telegraph, the girl, whose identity remains unpublished, became pregnant after being sexually assaulted by a 14-year-old boy she met online when she was ten. Following news of the pregnancy, High Court judge Emma Arbuthnot ruled that aborting the baby in the womb is in the girl’s best interests and that the placenta should be tested for DNA for the upcoming criminal investigation.
“Mrs Justice Arbuthnot heard from specialists and professionals involved in the girl’s care. She heard that the girl had been “self-harming” following a family bereavement and had a history of “neglecting herself.” The judge was also told that the girl had been “watching pornography since the age of eight.” She was also told of “signs” that the girl had been putting herself into “sexually exploitable positions.”
The girl, who is 15 weeks pregnant, said that the baby made her feel “special” and that she was “happy” to be pregnant. The girl’s mom initially said she supported her daughter’s desire to carry the baby to term. However, after being persuaded that their daughter’s chances of dying during childbirth were increased, the parents later consented to the abortion. If the parents did not agree, their child would have been removed from their custody by law enforcement and forced to have one.
During the court case, the judge heard from health care professionals who insisted the girl “lacked competence” and whose ideas about the fetus were “very idealistic and unrealistic.” Judge Arbuthnot agreed, ruling that the girl’s views involved “naive magical thinking” and that she “lacks the intellectual development and capacity to process the complexity of the decisions that had to be made, and her emotional investment in one outcome was clearly clouding her judgment.”
Following the ruling, the girl ultimately accepted the need to terminate her baby but wanted the adults to make the decision. The baby is set to be murdered early this week.
While the rape of a child is a heinous crime, so is murdering a baby. Rather than acquiesce to the judge, the parents should have taken their daughter and fled the country to give birth in a safe location surrounded by medical care. Instead, they are consenting to the killing of an innocent child.
