‘700 Club’ Host Pat Robertson Dies at 93

Pat Robertson, founder of the Christian Broadcasting Network and long-time host of the ‘700 Club’ has passed away at the age of 93. His son Gordon Robertson wrote of his passing on CBN’s website:

Dear Friends,

Today, June 08, 2023, my father, Pat Robertson, has gone home to be with his Lord. My dad was at home, surrounded by his family when he entered glory and met his Savior face to face, whom he loved and served with his whole heart, mind, and being. My father was an extraordinary man by any standard. He was an evangelist, a humanitarian, an entrepreneur, an educator, an author, a statesman, a television personality, a man of global influence and tremendous vision. Perhaps most important though, he was a dearly loved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. For many of us, he was also a spiritual father, guiding us and teaching us to love the Lord and live lives worthy of the Gospel. In his final days, he often talked about heaven and his desire to be with Jesus.

Robertson left the 700 Club in 2021 after 60 years on air, which was a good thing, as he was no stranger to self-contradiction and absurdity. He’s been deceiving millions of people for literally decades, routinely telling supporters that he’s getting bizarre visions and messages from the Lord including prophesying that Trump would win a second term and that after a few years an asteroid would strike the earth and demolish it.

He also told supporters that it’s ok for a husband to divorce a wife with Alzheimer’s, that Christians who believe in creationism are stupid, blamed wives for their husbands cheating on them, claimed to heal cancer on a whim and without warning, and a host of other nonsensical things.

We pray that he repented of his sins before he passed, and rejoice that he’s not around to do more damage.

  1. Truly disgusting post. You could have waiting until his body was buried before posting your satanic venom.

    1. Maybe you could give us the verses in the scripture that point to a cooling off period when an obvious false teacher dies before anyone can speak the truth about them. Where in the scriptures does it talk about not speaking the truth about the dead?

  2. I’m only saying out loud what many people wish, why? Because these grifters/snake-oil salesmen are truly, definitely, 100 percent a reproach to the church and Jesus Christ. So carry on with with your faux-indignation.

      1. Please point out where Robertson presented Godly counsel in the later stages of his life.

I’m glad I am not responsible for judging anyones soul.

  3. He seemed to be suffering from some form of dementia in his later years. His behavior and muddled, irrational thinking are very common among those that suffer from that malady. Sincerely, I’m not at all mocking -and believe both he and his family should be shown sympathy and kindness. We can only hope that his clearly heretical later views were the result of mental deterioration rather than sin, but only God knows. RIP.

  4. My last month paycheck was for 11000 dollars… All i did was simple online work from comfort at home for 3-4 hours/day that I got from this agency I discovered over the internet and they paid me for it 95 bucks every hour…..>>>> https://homejobs504.blogspot.com/

  5. While his mental state obviously deteriorated in his later years, I think it would be correct to say that Robertson did more good for the Kingdom than bad. I believe he tried to honor God, but like all men, fell woefully short at times. Anyone assuming God would cast him into Hell for this is a fool.

  6. Pat was a mixed bag. Did he do some things in the political realm that might have been helpful? Probably. Did he add to the peace, purity and unity of the church…nope. He was a promoter of Pentecostalism, Armininism , dispensationalism and on top of that made false prophesies (a death penalty crime in the OT), went about saying…”God told me”, and taught gullible people to break God’s commandments (divorce your dementia afflicted spouse, a truly vile teaching). On top of that he got filthy rich being a bit of a huckster based on Christianity. Is he in hell…don’t know…God knows though…that’s good enough for me.

    1. Not long ago, Pat said he didn’t believe in a pre-trib rapture, so I don’t think he was a dispensationalist, or if he was he gave up on that doctrine.
