Pastor Mike Todd Says Its OK to FEEL Like Cheating On Your Spouse, So Long as You Don’t Act on It

But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lustful intent has already committed adultery with her in his heart, Matthew 5:28

Pastor Michael Todd leads Transformation Church (TC.) He is known for crowd surfing during his church’s worship service and spending a lot of money. In the last two years, he’s given away $3,500,000 in houses, cash, and cars, spent $65,000 to buy 168 pairs of shoes, gave $600,000 in “reparations,” and purchased $66,000,000 in real estate.

He’s also known for preaching some good old-fashioned Modalism, giving the world perhaps the grossest illustration in church after he snorted and then hocked a loogie full of spit and snot into his hand and rubbed it in another man’s face and claiming his church had 75k salvations in the last 18 months even though practically none of them stuck around. He recently had a service where ballet dancers with bare butts danced around the stage.

Promoting what is basically Revoice-style, “Side B” Christianity for adulterers, Todd preached during a recent sermon that, contrary to what Matthew 5:28 says, it’s ok to desire sin and want to act on sin, so long as you don’t actually act on. He says in part:

We want to serve from a place of insecurity, our own selfish desire- but when you serve the kingdom you have to sacrifice all that. It’s not that you don’t have it, you just can’t act on it. Serving the kingdom is going to cost you your natural response.

Man, Man, ‘my wife made me mad, so I want to go talk to the girl at my job’. My natural response is ‘you treat me like that, I’m gonna go do something that makes me feel better.’

In the kingdom you have to put that response; it’s okay to feel it. Nobody has ever gotten in trouble for feeling it (Oh God I know, this is too much.)

Everybody say ‘I can feel it. I can’t act on it.’

I’m okay for you to feel horny. Want to cheat on your wife. Want to cheat on your husband. Feel like leaving them nappy headed kids…?

…Everybody say “Feel it!” God wouldn’t have given you feelings if he didn’t expect you to feel it. But in the kingdom we have to put our feelings through a filter. And we put our feelings through a filter; this is how we serve the king. We do not act on everything that we feel.

  1. It’s absolutely “not okay” to lust after others. So many ignorant and horrible ‘teachers’ in pulpits these days – no wonder our society is so diseased with sin.
