CA Governor Pledges to End Relationship with Walgreens Because They Won’t Dispense Abortion Pills in Other States

California Governor Gavin Newsom is so obsessed with abortion that he’s pledged his state would no longer do business with Walgreens following the retail giant’s announcement that they wouldn’t distribute abortion pills in 20 conservative states. Newsom likewise decried any company that “cowers to the extremists and puts women’s lives at risk.

He isn’t talking about the lives in the womb.

According to reports, “Walgreens said last week it would not dispense abortion pills in 20 states, including states where abortion remains legal, where the Republican attorneys general have warned it of risking breaking the law if it distributed the pills.

In a statement issued later on Monday to clarify its position, Walgreens said it planned to dispense abortion pill mifepristone in any jurisdiction where it was legally permissible to do so.”

Back in February, Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey sent a letter notifying Walgreens that sending abortion drugs in the mail violated their laws and the state would not stand for it. This letter was co-signed by 19 other AG’s. Baily would later say when questioned about this decision:

I will enforce the laws as written. That includes laws protecting the health of women and their unborn children. The FDA rule is in direct violation of federal law, and the unelected bureaucrats at the FDA have no authority to change Missouri law, either. The people’s elected representatives have spoken on the issue of abortion in our state, and we will fight to uphold that in court.”

  1. A truly loathsome individual who has singlehandedly done more damage to his fetid cesspool of a state than all who came before him – and that’s saying something.
