ERLC President Urges Southern Baptists to ‘Appreciate’ Confirmation of Liberal Supreme Court Judge

In light of the confirmation of judge Ketanji ‘What is a woman?’ Brown Jackson to the nation’s highest court, Brent Leatherwood, the acting president of the SBC’s Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission, tweeted out that even though Southern Baptists may have “philosophical” and “legal” differences with her, they ought to “appreciate” the nomination for being a “history-making moment.”

There have been black men on the Supreme Court, and there have been women, but there has never been a black woman, hence the cause to celebrate.

“Despite the philosophical and legal differences individuals like me will have with her, Judge Jackson’s confirmation is a history-making moment. “We should appreciate it as such. If we lose the ability to do that, we lose something that makes America an exceptional nation. I pray that as she joins the nation’s highest court, she will decide cases about human dignity, religious liberty and protection of the family based on the fundamental principles of our country.”

Leatherwood later elaborated on his inane comments, writing:

Soon enough there will be a queer Supreme Court Justice, and then a transgendered one- all moments that we will surely be encouraged to sit back and appreciate for their historical significance by our SBC Overlords.

Of course, this is ridiculous. Firstly, because saying we have mere ‘philosophical’ and ‘legal differences’, along with “partisan preferences” with Jackson is really underselling it. She’s a radical liberal who is lenient on child sexual abuse, doesn’t know what a woman is, and wants to entrench and codify the butchery of millions of babies in the womb.

Second, why should we celebrate the appointment of an evil, unqualified judge solely based on the color of her skin? What the hell is wrong with the ERLC?

Pastor Mike Stone and SBC presidential Candidate Tom Ascol both weighed in, writing:

Lastly, several other responders pointed out how inane this comment from the ERLC is. If you ever wanted a reason for why they ought to be defunded: this is it.

  1. How much more evidence does a person need to understand that this nations government has gone absolutely insane and it is because God is divinely judging it. Romans 1:18-32
