Tim Keller’s Church Segregates Unvaccinated Congregants to Separate Floor for Worship

Redeemer Presbyterian Church in NYC, formerly led for decades by Tim Keller, has decided to segregate congregants based on vaccine status, according to the church website. The church, which has a woke underbelly in many ways, posted the following updates to their website, specifically at their Eastside location.

Jeff Maples of Reformation Charlotte had this to say about it:

Redeemer Church, which was founded and pastored by Tim Keller, is doing something arguably even worse than disallowing the unvaccinated from corporate worship–they are segregating them to a separate floor. Keller–who has spent most of his life fanning the flames of social justice and decrying “systemic injustices,” which he’s argued place minorities at a disadvantage–is now at the forefront of a church policy that will negatively impact minorities the most. Not that ethnicity should matter; church segregation based on any qualification other than profession of faith is strictly prohibited by Scripture:

I appeal to you, brothers, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be united in the same mind and the same judgment. –1 Corinthians 1:10

Of course, I argue that this in-house segregation (division) is worse than the churches that are simply not allowing the unvaccinated in, to begin with, because at least those who are turned away will be forced to go seek out a biblical church. Redeemer clearly is not.  Redeemer is requiring the vaccinated and the unvaccinated to pre-register for worship service and those who are unvaccinated must sit on the second floor–away from the truly redeemed (vaccinated)–and muzzle their faces with cloth.

  2. The news that many states are currently reporting 40 – 70% of Wuhan flu deaths are fully- vaccinated individuals apparently hasn’t made it to this woke backwater.

    1. I agree ZERO unvaxxed people belong in church. They should be banned. The good news is I’ve heard many congregants are photographing these unvaxxed wackos so they can report to the authorities and also contact their employers. In the end, you will get the vaxx. Take it with love, voluntarily, as Christian leaders like John Piper command you. Or else we will make you, also with love. The first option is easier so I suggest you take up the offer. To stay unvaxxed going into 2022 is domestic terrorism!! 🇺🇸🇮🇱🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈

      1. You force or coerce my children into taking that proven deadly, dangerous, and ineffective experimental drug (which is several times more deadly to young and healthy people than the virus it’s supposed to protect against), and you will learn something about what love is, the hard way, Johnny boy. Nobody died and made you God. Now back off.

          1. I have the God-given right to defend my family if you were to try to inject them with a drug against their will.

God doesn’t answer to the FBI.

      2. If most all in the church are vaxxed, what’s the worry if someone unvaxxed wanders in to worship, unless that’s your de facto (or unwitting) admission that the vax isn’t always effective? If you’re that concerned when some
“Domestic Terrorist” wanders in, how about precautionary mask or hand washing instead of making Heinrich proud as the Snitch Police for government intimidation?

There is ever growing and evolving data regarding coronavirus effects, outcomes, differing rIsk and demographic factors, mitigation efficacies (or lack thereof) growing numbers of therapeutics, lots of data often incomplete, conflicting and confusing. Some from reputable sources deliberately ignored or deplatformed as “misinformation” (welcome to 1984 Winston?) because the “science” isn’t always congruent with politicized narratives.

That said, I willingly was vaxxed x 2 as soon as it was available, had no problems, and I recommend it to people in increased risk categories, and generally for other adults, although the risk/benefit ratio is less compelling, particularly with the advent of monoclonal antibody infusion centers (assuming Biden doesn’t restrict it, like in Florida). I’ve seen many seniors die from severe persistent Covid pneumonia, most unvaxxed, many young to middle aged adults get Covid who felt lousy for a few days then felt fine, and others who improved but later proved to have a related residual cardiomyopathy. Although uncommon, there are people who had severe permanent problems from the vaccine. And, as one example, a healthy non obese non diabetic 40 year old lady friend of our family who didn’t bother to get vaxxed got Covid in June with rapid extreme pneumonia requiring a month on a ventilator and then 2 weeks on an ECMO machine as a desperate last ditch to keep her alive, and she died. The “science” doesn’t support any one size fits all rigid or “correct” government or private policy for every age and situation. I’ve seen some infer that getting vaxxed belies no faith in Christ, or is the mark of the beast, which I think very wrong and absurd. On the other extreme, I think those belittling individual choice, thinking that things are totally black and white so as to applaud government coercion are wrong also. And it’s laughable, if not galling, to have an arrogant blowhard like Joe Scarborough announce that those who differ are disobeying Jesus Christ! And done with nauseating virtue signaling. And with some choosing to be unvaxxed, and some going to public school board meetings to raise questions or comment about curricula, with leftists in power, and dominant media groupthink not challenging, if not abetting convenient new glib (and ridiculous) definitions: isn’t it amazing that in a mere 8 months we’ve now got probably about 150 million “domestic terrorists” in our midst?

    1. I love my neighbor enough not to force or coerce them into taking a proven dangerous, deadly, ineffective experimental drug that could seriously injure or kill them.

Your problem, Johnny, is that you’ve completely skipped the 1st of Jesus’ commandments. Love the Lord thy God. You’ve not only skipped it, you’re trying to take His place.

Now get thee behind me, Satan.

    2. “9 Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor [g]homosexuals, 10 nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor those habitually drunk, nor verbal abusers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God.” – 1 Cor. 6:9-11

I also love my neighbor enough to not encourage something that will lead them to eternal damnation apart from God. His word is unambiguous. Non-repentant, practicing homosexuals will NOT inherit the kingdom of God.

You know nothing of love, Johnny boy. You don’t know what love is, because you’ve rejected God’s definition of love, and replaced it with your own.
