Major Announcement From Protestia

Hey Folks,

After nearly a decade of writing, and thousands upon thousands of articles later, we are pleased to announce that Protestia will be ad-free! This is something that many of us have longed for foreeeeever, as we trudged and tolerated sketchy pop-ups and constant ads, and we could not be more excited.

This ability to go-ad free has been made possible by the help of our patrons, who have been sacrificially giving to us for a long time, as well as those making one-time or monthly donations to the Gideon Knox Group and all the entities that they are creating. We don’t view your gift to us as just another miscellaneous drop in the bucket, but rather we view it as unique and personal, and we are grateful for it.

Several months ago we got a message from a woman who was apologetic that she only had 25$ to give us. We receive these messages every now and then, and figured we would copy and paste one particular response of what we told her, as it reflects our mindset very well:

Thank you for your donation! Obviously, we only want to receive it so long as you are first and foremost supporting your local church. If not, please stop giving to us and give it to them.

But if so, then that that $25 is a gift from God. We run a tight ship here and do all we can to stretch the dollar. That $25 could pay for a software program we use for a year, or three months of a subscription we use to edit our pictures. It might pay a percentage of our web hosting, or pays for one of our writers. We may use it as a small bonus to our editors who selflessly donate hours each week reviewing the posts. Recently, one of the writers broke their mouse, and they used one person’s monthly $5.95 to buy a used one from a thrift store, and have some leftover.

The 25$ will not be spent frivolously, but carefully considered. So thank you so much, we are deeply appreciative of any amount, and we will use it to bring glory to our great God and Savior.

Now, it pays to remove ads.

We view a donation of any size as a blessing, and now that we have reached a certain amount of patrons, we can afford to lose the revenue generated from them and give everyone a much better experience. No more having 80 percent of the screen covered with that nonsense.

That being said, we will be experimenting a bit with our own banners or perhaps a substack pop-up that directs people to our content and explains the perks they get from being a patron. Have patience as we work it out and sift through the options. We promise it won’t be anywhere near as obnoxious as some random ad about miracle weight-loss pills or psychics revealing the future or anything like that, but rather will be clean, tasteful, minimal, and unobtrusive.

Something like this one below, which you can click to see the perks of being a member. Or maybe not even this. We will soon see.

Thank you so much for helping us get the word out, for sharing our content, and for being a good neighbor to everyone across the world that this ministry serves.

When you support us you support a worldwide body looking for resources to combat false teachings in their midst, to root out a compromised guest speaker coming to speak at their church, to know which well-known preacher or author is heading downhill at breakneck speeds, and to know what sort of unbiblical tomfoolery professing Christians or organizations are passing off as words of wisdom and sound teaching even as they deceive the masses and crush their spirits.

Thank you for supporting the mission of Protestia.

We love you all so much.

To God be the glory!

  1. I noticed the part about 3 months of a subscription for software to edit pictures. As a professional artist that has worked doing computer art since 1993, and a Photoshop user since then, I would like to suggest Affinity Photo for your editing. I got tired of subscriptions! Normally $50 one time, with no monthly subs. And sometimes on sale. Give that a look. I hope this helps.
