Woman Fined $300K for Setting Wyoming’s Only Full-Service Abortion Clinic on Fire
Three months after a judge sentenced 22-year-old Loran Green to five years in prison for committing arson against Wyoming’s only full-service abortion clinic, she has now also been ordered to pay nearly $300,000 in restitution for her crimes.
Lorna Green sought to burn down Wellspring Health Access just weeks before it opened in 2022, breaking into the building and splashing gasoline over the floor, which she then set on fire. The clinic did not burn down entirely but was so gutted that it was made inoperable for a year. Green was captured after a tipster gave her up for a $15,000 reward.
Green expressed remorse for her actions and received the minimum sentence of five years, a far cry from the maximum of 20 years in prison she faced.
U.S. District Judge Alan Johnson set her fine at $298,000, with money divided between the abortion insurance company, the building owner, and the founder of the abortuary.
She shouldn’t have apologized.
She should have channeled Thích Quảng Đức.
