Fresh off $20M Purchase, Transformation Church Just Spent Another $35M
Transformation Church’s Lead Pastor Michael Todd is known for crowd surfing during his church’s worship service and spending a lot of money. In the last two years he’s given away $3,500,000 in houses, cash, and cars, spent $65,000 to buy 168 pairs of shoes, and purchased a real estate complex for over $20,000,000. They previously bought their church for $10,000,000. Three months ago he gave away $600,000 to three people during his Sunday service, paying tribute to the last survivors of Tulsa Race Massacre (TRM), describing the gifts as “reparations” for the ills that befell them and the suffering they have endured.
Now, the church has announced that they have expanded their real estate portfolio, buying an 6-story, 200,000-square foot office tower for 35 million dollars, after the previous owners declared bankruptcy.
Todd, who joined the church as the sound guy and became the lead pastor 4 years later in 2015, has grown the church from 300 congregants to nearly 5000 over a six-year period, and is currently putting on a sermon series called ‘Crazy Faith’ which involves a lot of promo material featuring Todd dressed up as an astronaut and selling church merch with his face on it.
As part of the Crazy Love series, they gave $75,000 to Vous Church. You might remember them as the church that took over the location after Ed Young Jr sold the church building off without telling the 200 member satellite church, announcing after the service that he was disbanding the church and it would be the last service they ever have.
As far as the recent litany of transactions Todd has been making, these properties are not being purchased without a purpose, however, with a church rep explaining that these are being run as for-profit businesses, in order to fund further philanthropic endeavors.
