‘Prominent North Carolina Pastor’ Accused of Peeing on Woman During Flight

A yet unnamed but soon to be revealed ‘prominent’ North Carolina Pastor has peed on a woman during a Delta flight, turning what should have been an enjoyable skip-and-a-hop into the watery trip of a nightmare.

According to reports, Alicia Beverly was flying from Las Vegas to Detroit when the dastardly incident happened, telling WJBK-TV, FOX 2 News in Detroit:

“It felt warm, like on the side of me I felt something warm. I jump up and I seen his private area out and I screamed and that woke everybody up. By that time I actually looked at him and I see him shake himself off and I’m like this man just peed on me! I looked and there was a puddle of pee in the seats!”

After her scream, the pastor was subdued by an off-duty officer flying on the same trip who was woken by the shouts. He restrained the man until landing and handed over to the FBI to be taken into custody.

Initial reports are suggesting the pastor had a bad reaction to some sleeping pills, possibly Ambien, which caused him to unzip his pants, expose himself, and pee on his seatmate. Beverly reports that he didn’t say a word to her the entire time he was relieving himself.

The North Carolina pastor who has been described as “prominent,” “white” and “well-known” was issued a court appearance for misdemeanor assault and released, according to Mara Schneider of the FBI’s Detroit office, saying:

“Until he appears in front of a judge and therefore gets formally charged, we will not be releasing his name.”

As far as who he could be, Wikipedia has a list of the largest churches in NC, with their associated pastors, some more prominent than others. It may be one of these men, or someone completely different, but odds are it is someone associated with the Southern Baptist Convention.

Given that the pastor was white, and Beverly is black, we imagine if it is revealed to be an SBC pastor, that certain obstreperous elements within the SBC and the echelons of #BigEva will have a racially-fueled field day with such a revelation. Though with the severity of the episode, it seems evident that such actions would only be done by the pastor as a result of mental illness or a drug-induced haze, and not out of sexual perversion and a sound mind.

  1. Of course we are aware of many weirdos in society that intentionally do similar things, but there is the actual possibility that he was asleep during all of this. If that was the case, then it would be very appropriate to have compassion on someone who had such a beyond embarrassing sleep-walking experience.

Years ago, I myself dreamed that I was peeing…only to wake up while peeing on the floor beside my bed. I’ve also woke up inside a hall closet and elsewhere, and God only knows what I was doing before I woke up.

It would make no sense to pee on someone if he was awake. That is not something that a coherent person would do and expect to remain a secret.

  2. I am sorry, I do not think I needed to read that. It is very like reading a tabloid in a grocery store check out line.

  3. Oh, so now it’s a sin to pee on people during flights? How am I supposed to get to Hawaii? Europe?

  4. So your response is to list all white Baptist pastors like you are conducting a lineup? That makes you a complete Jerk in my opinion. How about you wait to find out who actually did it instead of attempting to implicate everyone. You call that any kind of standard of journalism or reporting? Piss on you….

  5. I’ve been a flaming Jesus Freak forever but would never defend an offending “pastor” & exclude his victim almost as an aside. I think you should report it & here’s why: it WILL find its way to NEWS, tabloids, whatever and when we Christians neglect to report on Christian issues & people, we’re suspected of blind favoritism. James 3:1 “Not many of you should become teachers, my brothers, for YOU KNOW THAT WE WHO TEACH WILL BE JUDGED WITH GREATER STRICTNESS.” ANY person in a fellowship leadership position must be willing to submit to scrutiny, even joyously, because if that’s their true calling, they know God expects them to be accountable. When we fail to hold leaders, especially teachers and pastors, to a higher standard, we’re not doing God’s will; He DESPISES substandard, questionable care of HIS SHEEP. My brother sleep-walked his whole life, always spoke clearly while looked right t us and get frustrated when we’d keep telling him to go to bed. The next day, he recalled nothing. I’ve seen many UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL & DRUGS (back in flower child days), any man so wastes he didn’t go to the restroom couldn’t aim their equipment at someone with full release without soaking themselves, too. Who knows what kind of dangerous GERMS is in another person’s bodily fluids? ICK. That’s utterly disgusting. I’ll bet anyone reading this would be pretty unhappy if they’d been peed on. I sure would, no matter WHO it was. 🙏🏾🐑 (I’m on your daily email list, LOVE YOUR WORK! )

  6. I am usually in agreement with your articles, but this one is a very poor example of journalism and shows a lack of integrity for the sake of provocation. It was very wrong to provide a list of ‘possible’ pastors, casting a negative light on some good, godly men and causing internal doubt just by listing their name. You need to repent and apologize.

Also, I feel bad for both the victim and the offender. Nobody wants to be urinated on, and your article did nothing to empathize with her (and I appreciate how she has kept her thoughts to herself until the surrounding facts come out, and hasn’t jumped to conclusions about perversion, etc.). Your article also did nothing to provide any thoughts on why this person would have done this. Some people are sleep-walkers and have been know to urinate in a closet, another room, by the bed, or even in bed, dreaming that they are actually in the bathroom. This doesn’t require the use of a ‘sleeping aid’ such as Ambien, but can happen to anyone.

You can do much better than this.

  7. At this point, the pastor has not yet been named. News outlets are in touch with his people, but still no name. That suggests the “Well known” pastor is very well known. I’m guessing Furtick.
