Dear American, Russell Moore Hates You

1950's church fire

Breaking up is always hard to do. When in a co-dependent and abusive relationship, especially one in which the flame of love is finally extinguished, the hardest part is letting go. Acknowledging reality is not easy, even when it’s painfully obvious. The best thing to do in such a situation is to let go and let God.

Americans, particularly those affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention and wider conservative evangelicalism, felt that Russell Moore wanted what was best for us. We were happy to have such a bright and noble character take the reigns of the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission (ERLC) so many years ago, tasked with standing up for Christians, our liberties, and our best interests. That was, after all, the job description.

We look back on those early days with Russell Moore with the fond nostalgia of rose-colored glasses. We were told, and we believed, that he would articulate a Biblical worldview and speak with prophetic courage the truth to power. It was with such naive optimism that we overlooked the warning signs and red flags of a burgeoning abusive relationship with who, time would tell, was not our paramour but our persecutor.

As with all relationships that turn violently hateful, it takes time to realize that the abusive party isn’t just having a bad day. And it isn’t all our fault. And they’re not just a good person who sometimes does bad things, but they are – in fact – as bad a person as their actions demonstrate. Such is the case with the American evangelical relationship with Russell Moore.

The red flags were all there, but we were slow to pay them attention.

Abusers often engage in controlling behavior, unrealistic expectations, blaming others, hyper-sensitivity, and an overall disinterest in our well-being. These should have made us break up with Russell Moore as soon as Pulpit & Pen warned us more than a decade ago. But, just as in any abusive relationship, the time to leave is now, and today is the first day of the rest of our lives.

The first warning sign that Russell Moore has only used the church as a sugar momma to support his lifestyle was the curious lack of interest he displayed in doing anything related to religious liberty as it pertains to his job description at the ERLC. When Kim Davis was arrested for not issuing gay marriage licenses in Kentucky in her role as County Clerk (she did not prevent her colleagues from doing so), Russell Moore said she should have resigned from her elected office. He stood up for her freedom of conscience like Chamberlain stood up to Hitler.

But as the fall-out from Obergfell vs. Hodges continued, Moore repeatedly was on the side of those attacking the church and hardly, if ever, defending them. He later posited that he would have no problem attending gay wedding receptions, apparently vying for a seat as the homosexual couple cuts the wedding cake, purportedly with a George Foreman grill or toaster in tow as a gift for them to enjoy in their new home. Later, Moore would attack Christians in Uganda for passing a law prohibiting the promotion of gay propaganda in public media.

Moore fought against Americans in Newark, New Jersey for trying to enforce pre-existing building codes, and lobbied successfully to build a Mosque in defense of the religious freedom of Muslims (which ultimately led to the city paying for its construction). Meanwhile, Russell Moore attacked churches staying open during the COVID-19 “pandemic,” claiming that shelving the First Amendment rights to religious observance and peaceable assembly were not religious rights issues. Moore argued that “rights are never absolute,” especially when “in the interests of the government.” Moore attacked the freedom of the press, having a Christian reporter booted by the cops from the SBC Convention for asking about why one of his research fellows was supportive of homosexuality. After a gunman shot up a church, Moore refused to affirm the Christian’s right of self-defense and Second Amendment liberties.

As President Trump gave a historic speech to the United Nations defending Americans’ rights to religious liberty, Moore was silent, except for tweeting Cultural Marxist material about how to create “diversity in the church.” When President Trump defended the unborn in his State of the Union speech – the strongest speech ever defending the unborn from a sitting president – again, Moore was silent.

Moore has repeatedly blamed Christians for the rampant immorality in our culture. He claimed that enforcing traditional gender roles cause transgenderism. Moore accused the church of not “discipling the transgender.” Moore blamed (and is still blaming) Trump supporters for ruining Christianity and accuses us of “worshiping” Trump. Moore blamed people who believe in national borders for abortion.

Russell Moore is hyper-sensitive, at least when it comes to offending Haitian migrants, illegal aliens, liberals, Democrats, pro-abortionists, and homosexuals, all for whom he offers his famous “softened tone.” However, Moore doesn’t seem to care at all if Christians and Americans are offended. It’s clearly not the slightest concern to him.

But, there are a few tweets out there, which we thought summed up Russell Moore’s antipathy, hatred, and abuse of Americans. Please use the buttons to scroll and see them.

The responses from a myriad of Americans to Russell Moore are in his latest article at The Atlantic, which lambasts, insults, and accuses the residents of Springfield, Ohio of racism and lying. They’re eye-opening, and most importantly, they are right.

In Russell Moore’s #MeToo ideology, women have to be believed, no matter what. Maybe he will believe this woman (below) as she explains from her own lived experience what it’s like to be colonized by the Third World.

Telling Americans that they are believing lies, when there’s evidence to the contrary, is hatred. Telling Americans that they are selfish, only for wanting what’s best for their children, is hatred. Telling Americans they have to surrender their culture and communities, is hatred.

Russell Moore hates you, America. It’s time to realize this, escape for your abusive relationship with the theological caste, and embrace a genuine religion that – at the end of the day – really does want what’s best for you. And that’s not Russell Moore’s religion, because he serves an altogether different master.

  1. What’s satanic to the core is the failure to follow God’s standards for how to deal with accusations. Duet. 19 requires 2 or 3 witnesses, and diligent inquiry. Moore, and his fellow democrats, had no witnesses, and didn’t do any diligent inquiry, but jumped on the opportunity to try to strike a political blow.

Turns out, after law enforcement did that diligent inquiry, all 33 bomb threats came from overseas.

Now who’s responsible for terrifying the children?

Moore is an abomination (Prov 17:15). He loves the wolves and hates the sheep. He has no conscience. He has no fear of the Lord.
