Former worship pastor and ‘American Idol’ alum Caleb Flynn has broken his silence less than a week after being charged with his wife’s murder, telling a judge that he “just wants to take care of my daughters” and that he’s “not a risk.”
Caleb and his wife Ashley, along with their two children, were active members of Christian Life Center, where the former was involved with the worship team and music ministry. A week ago, a 911 call came in saying that Ashley had been fatally shot in an apparent home invasion, while he and the children slept.
In the 911 call, Flynn could be heard frantically screaming “There’s blood everywhere, oh my God, oh my God, oh my God.”
On Friday, he pled ‘not guilty’ to murder charges, along with assault and tampering with evidence, with a bond set for $2 million dollars.
Flynn’s attorney has criticized the speed at which his client was question and charged, but Tipp City Police Chief Greg Adkins insisted that the investigation had “not moved fast,” but rather it “progressed at a pace dictated by a thorough and deliberate investigative process.”
Their church, Christian Life Center, did not stream their service yesterday, but did post a statement on Facebook:
