Prominent Apologist Justin Peters Announces He’s Become Senior Pastor of New Church Plant

Prominent Christian apologist Justin Peters has announced that he has become the new senior pastor of a new church plant in Montana.

Peters, who for years has been a popular conference speaker, was born with cerebral palsy and spent many of his formative years attending healing conferences put on by Word of Faith hucksters and fantastical faith healers, which never resulted in healing.

While still believing God can miraculously heal, Peters, who holds a Master of Divinity and a Master of Theology from SBTS, founded Justin Peters Ministries. The ministry specializes in exposing the lies and errors of the Word of Faith movement and continuationism, through his involvement with the Strange Fire conference and his Clouds Without Water series of lectures.

In late 2025, a small group of believers saw a need to plant a doctrinally sound church west of Billings, Montana, and hence Grace and Truth Community Church was born.,

At present they have only one elder, Peters himself, but also have eight “remote elders,” including Phil Johnson and Mike Riccardi of Grace Community Church, with the website explaining:

Believing that the Bible teaches a plurality of local elders (Acts 14:23; 20:17; Titus 1:5; 1 Peter 5:1-2), until that time arrives, we have qualified men who have offered to serve as remote elders. These men have been a source of wisdom and counsel in the months leading up to and time since our first meeting on December 28, 2025. Much as the Apostle Paul served as a source of wisdom, instruction, and accountability for multiple churches though he was not present, these men will serve GTCC.
