Access Church, a multisite megachurch based in Del Rio, Texas, announced that they are terminating the employment of its founders and senior pastors, Brian and Sandra Sisneros.
The decision follows revelation that Brian was involved in at least one sinful sexual relationship with a woman who is not his wife.
While Brian preached the service last week, the church shared midweek that they were cancelling their annual “Worship Under the Stars” event, which had been scheduled for April 3rd.
Days later, the church posted a message from their Board of Overseers on their website and social media, explaining the situation.
“In light of recent events, and after much prayer, counsel, and careful consideration, the Access Church Board of Overseers has determined that it is in the best interest of Access Church that Pastors Brian & Sandra Sisneros will no longer serve as Lead Pastor of Access Church, effective immediately.”
While the announcement does not say why he is being let go, however, and only states “Out of respect for all involved and to protect the integrity of this process, we will be limiting further details at this time,” revelations on social media indicate he was having an affair.
In order to ensure “stability, spiritual covering, and a clear path ahead,” the church appointed Pastors Emmanuel and Naiya Pacheco to serve as the new Lead Pastors of Access Church.

Pastor Rafa Menchaca and his wife, Yoahana Menchaca, who led the Spanish-language campus of Access Church Eagle Pass, Texas, also announced that they were formally disassociating themselves from the church in order to “remain aligned with our convictions and our commitment to integrity — no matter the cost.”
