Famed (former?) complementarian Pastor Mark Driscoll is defending himself after having a woman pastor preach at his church this week.
Driscoll, who oversees Trinity Church in Scottsdale, AZ, had Millicent Sedra preach during a Wednesday evening service and posted a video on X promoting her.
.@echochurch_'s @MillicentSedra gives a stern warning.

Feminism is the most anti-female movement, and not only does lies to and attack women, it attacks God and His Word. pic.twitter.com/q1LLrnsXj7
Ironically, she was preaching against the dangers of feminism.
Millicent Sedra is not just a female teacher or speaker, but rather a pastor at Echo Church in Sydney, Australia, where her brother and sister-in-law are the founding senior pastors, and where she preaches a mixed crowd of men and women during the Sunday service.

Recently, they defended their call to be preachers here.
When pressed about the issue, Driscoll repeatedly defended pastor Millicent’s preaching and presence at his church, justifying it by pointing out that she was preaching to women and that it was part of a midweek gathering.

Driscoll has previously decried the notion of women pastors, describing them as “unfit” and “gullible.”
Without blushing, Paul is simply stating that when it comes to leading in the church, women are unfit because they are more gullible and easier to deceive than men. While many irate women have disagreed with his assessment through the years, it does appear from this that such women who fail to trust his instruction and follow his teaching are much like their mother Eve and are well-intended but ill-informed. . .
That, however, was a long time ago. In a sermon from 2024, he seems to suggest that the office of senior pastor and leadership is for men only, but women may be able to function as non-senior pastors.

Read the rest of the verse OVER A MAN.. she wasnt preaching OVER A MAN and besides that that verse is taken out of context.
She is not hard to look at.
I really do not see anything wrong with her message so what is the issue. We forget that there is so many woman in the Bible with important roles at least this woman spoke the truth. Stop being busy with the things of the Lord and get busy with the Lord of the things.
[…] alleging that our reporting bore false witness against him. The charge stemmed from our February 27 article documenting that Trinity Church platformed a woman pastor who preached at a church event […]
Pray for this young woman. She sounds like somebody who could do a lot of good if she can discard flimsy exegesis and accept all true Biblical teaching, step down from the church pulpit and from taking the title of co-pastor.
